How to check cystitis? How to check for cystitis

Cystitis is a common urinary tract infectious disease and also an inflammation of the bladder. As for how to examine cystitis, in addition to judging by clinical symptoms, it can also be determined through some scientific examination methods, such as patients can undergo urography.

1. Urinary tract angiography

Chronic cystitis is characterized by reduced bladder capacity and rough or irregular bladder edges. These can be accurately detected through urography.

2. X-ray examination

If a kidney infection or other genitourinary tract abnormality is suspected, an x-ray should be done. For patients infected with Proteus, if the treatment is poor or ineffective, an X-ray examination should be performed to determine whether there are urinary stones.

3. CT examination

CT examination is also one of the means to diagnose cystitis. CT examination for chronic cystitis shows widespread specific and non-specific bacterial infection in the bladder wall. Regular thickening, bladder shrinkage and rough inner and outer edges. Gangrenous cystitis may also reveal gas in the bladder and inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity.

4. Laboratory examination

The blood picture is normal, or there is a slight increase in white blood cells. Urinalysis often shows pyuria or bacteriuria and sometimes macroscopic or microscopic hematuria. Urine culture can detect pathogenic bacteria. If there is no other urinary system disease, serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen are normal.

5. Others

Check whether there are any systemic diseases, such as diabetes, tuberculosis, severe liver disease, chronic kidney disease, chronic colitis, tumors, immunoglobulin deficiency, etc. If any of the above diseases exist, they should be treated at the same time.

Check whether there are any infected lesions near the urethral opening, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, cervicitis, paraurethral gland inflammation, perianal inflammation, prostatitis, etc. Once the lesions are found, they should be treated promptly and thoroughly.
