Early symptoms of rickets, do you have these symptoms?

Rickets is a disease caused by a lack of vitamin D. Children with this disease often experience night terrors and excessive sweating, and their bone growth and development will also be relatively slow. Some people even have slow conditioned reflexes.

1. Psychoneural symptoms

Children with rickets often experience night terrors, crying spells, and excessive sweating. Moreover, this excessive sweating has nothing to do with climate and temperature, but is caused by the stimulation of sweat. In addition, children often rub their pillows, which may cause occipital baldness or annular alopecia.

(II) Iliac bone manifestation

1. Head

(1) Skull softening: It is an early manifestation of rickets and is more common in infants aged 3 to 6 months.

(2) Skull deformity: "square head", "saddle head" or "cross head"

(3) The anterior fontanelle is large and closes slowly, sometimes as late as 2-3 years old.

(4) The patient's tooth growth will be relatively late. It may be delayed until the age of 1, or all teeth may not grow until the age of 3. In severe cases, the teeth may be misaligned and the enamel may be underdeveloped.

2. Chest

(1) Rib bead.

(2) Chest deformity: pectus carinatum; pectus excavatum.

3. Limbs and spine

(1) The wrists and ankles swell, forming rickets "bracelets" and "anklets".

(2) Lower limb deformities: “O”-shaped legs (genu valgum) or “X”-shaped legs (genu valgum).

(3) Spinal curvature: Scoliosis or kyphosis is very likely to occur, and patients with severe conditions may also develop pelvic deformity, namely hip valgus. Moreover, female patients with severe conditions may suffer from difficult labor due to pelvic deformity after one year.

(III) Other manifestations

The child is late in raising his head, sitting, standing and walking, his joints are loose and overextended, his cerebral cortex functions abnormally, conditioned reflexes form slowly, his language development is retarded, and he is anemic.
