If there is retinal damage, the patient must pay attention to the severity of his or her condition. If the retinal damage is serious, medical attention must be sought immediately, especially if the symptoms do not subside and the pain is severe, and if there is a corneal infection, antibiotic treatment must be taken.

1. If the symptoms do not improve after 24 hours, and the pain and tears still occur. Then it is a corneal infection, that is, keratitis, and you need to go to an ophthalmologist as soon as possible and take antibiotics in time without delaying treatment.

2. If it happened more than a month ago, you also need an eye examination and staining to see if there is mild corneal edema, which is chronic inflammation. Don't take it lightly.

3. For corneal epithelial abrasions, local treatment includes antibiotics to prevent infection, epithelial growth factor and bandaging the affected eye to promote corneal epithelial healing.

4. When corneal epithelial abrasion is accompanied by iridocyclitis, ciliary muscle paralysis drugs should be used and surgical suture should be performed.

5. Corneal contusion can cause corneal epithelial defects, stromal edema and wrinkles of the posterior Descemet's membrane, and pupil constriction.

6. The corneal epithelium has a strong regeneration ability. Simple corneal epithelial scratches will generally heal on their own within 48 hours. After healing, no scars will be left and vision will not be affected.

7. If corneal trauma is accompanied by penetrating injury, it must be taken seriously and must be treated by an ophthalmologist. You can't handle it yourself. The treatment principle for each stage of eye injury is different according to the degree and location of the injury. The cornea is divided into 5 layers: from the inside to the outside, the corneal endothelium, the posterior Descemet's layer, the parenchyma layer, the anterior Descemet's layer and the corneal epithelium. If only the epithelium is injured, it will heal quickly without leaving scars and affecting vision.
