Local swelling or tenderness is limited to the lesion area. 3-4 days after onset, subperiosteal abscess is formed, the affected limb segment is swollen, and tenderness is obvious. When effusion exists, there will be swelling, red skin, and fever may fluctuate, forming chronic osteomyelitis.
