What to do if you vomit? Vomiting can be relieved in this way

Vomiting is something that most people have experienced. There are many reasons for vomiting. The most common one is caused by stomach diseases. Acute gastroenteritis can also cause vomiting, which will also make the stomach and intestines very uncomfortable. Dizziness can also cause severe vomiting, or smelling or seeing something disgusting can also cause vomiting. When vomiting occurs, you can restrain your mind and it will be helpful.

If vomiting is severe or lasts for more than 24 hours, or if your vomit contains blood or coffee-coffee-like material, see a doctor immediately. Find out the possible cause and take appropriate treatment.

Nausea and vomiting are two vague symptoms that can be caused by a variety of diseases and conditions. Treatment and management depend on the cause. For example, if your nausea is due to migraines, treating the migraines (with medication, cold compresses, rest, quiet, and darkness) will help relieve the nausea and vomiting.

If your stomach upset is due to gastroesophageal reflux, you may be able to relieve your symptoms by taking over-the-counter (OTC) medications when reflux strikes and following your doctor's advice. Of course, there are other reasons why nausea and vomiting may occur.

During bouts of nausea and vomiting, stick to drinking light liquids. If your stomach is feeling upset, it's unlikely to handle the extra burden of digesting food. Stick to the liquid diet until you feel a little better and are no longer vomiting. Light, room-temperature fluids (such as water or diluted non-citrus juices) are easy to digest and can prevent dehydration caused by vomiting or diarrhea.

Light liquids can take some of the load off your stomach and help prevent dehydration. Let it be. Doctors believe that the best treatment for a minor case of "stomach flu" (not the true flu, which is an upper respiratory tract infection caused by a specific microorganism) is to stay in bed and let time heal. The more rest you get, the more energy your body has to fight off invading viruses. Don't drink alcohol. Anyone who has ever had a hangover knows that alcohol has a powerful irritating effect on the stomach. If you’re already feeling sick to your stomach, now is definitely not the time to drink.

(If your current stomach upset is caused by drinking, don't worry about the old saying "cure a hangover with a drink, fight fire with fire." More alcohol will only make you feel worse.) The same goes for fatty foods, strong foods, caffeinated drinks, and cigarettes. Stick to foods that are easy to digest. When you are ready to resume eating, start with soft, bland foods such as bread, unbuttered toast, steamed fish, or bananas. Avoid eating high-fat and high-fiber foods. Drinking some chicken soup is also a good option.
