Excessive stomach fire is not good for health, so you must pay attention to whether it is a manifestation of excessive stomach fire. For example, if you often have bad breath, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, swollen and painful gums, etc., you need to be alert to the fact that these symptoms are caused by excessive stomach fire. 1. Stomach fire is stomach heat. It is mostly caused by evil heat invading the stomach; or due to addiction to alcohol, spicy food, and excessive consumption of rich and greasy food, which help fire to generate heat; or due to qi stagnation, blood stasis, phlegm, dampness, food accumulation, etc., which turn into heat and fire, all of which can lead to stomach heat (stomach fire); the fire of the liver and gallbladder, which invades the stomach horizontally, can also cause stomach heat (stomach fire). 2. Stomach heat is mostly caused by eating too much spicy and greasy food, excessive stomach fire, or evil heat invading the stomach, or qi stagnation turning into fire. Fire burns inside the body, causing stagnation of Qi and blood in the stomach and viscera meridians, so there is burning pain in the epigastrium. Heat damages body fluid, so one feels thirsty and likes cold drinks. Fire can digest food, so one will feel hungry after digesting food. If liver fire attacks the stomach, one will swallow acid and have noisy stomach. If fire goes up through the meridians, one will have bad breath, swollen and painful gums, and nosebleeds. If Yangming is hot or body fluid is damaged, there will be constipation, red urine, red tongue with yellow coating, and slippery and rapid pulse. 3. Its pathological manifestation is that when the stomach is hot, the digestion function is too hyperactive, and there may be noise in the stomach, hunger after digesting food, etc. The heat is strong and the fire is fierce, which consumes a lot of body fluids, causing dryness and heat to accumulate inside the body, and the stomach loses its harmony and descending function. Symptoms such as bitter taste in the mouth, thirst and constipation can be seen. In severe cases, it may deplete yin fluid and cause stomach yin deficiency. Gastric fire inflammation can cause gastric qi to rise, and symptoms such as nausea, vomiting of sour, bitter and yellow water may occur. Stomach fire goes up along the meridians and causes toothache, gingival swelling, or nosebleed. The heat burns the stomach's veins, causing blood to overflow and cause hematemesis. 4. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the regulation of stomach fire should follow the principles of clearing heat and clearing stagnation. You should be moderate in your diet, eat less hot foods, eat less sweet and greasy foods, increase the intake of yellow and green vegetables and seasonal fruits to supplement the deficiency of vitamins and inorganic salts, and pay proper attention to oral hygiene. |
