Is hematuria serious if you have nephritis?

Nephritis is a common disease in the human body. When this disease occurs, it will bring many adverse reactions to the human body, such as frequent urination, urgency, incomplete urination, and hematuria. Many people do not know much about hematuria caused by nephritis, and have great doubts about whether it is serious. So is hematuria caused by nephritis serious? Let me give you a detailed introduction below.

Nephritis is a relatively common disease that can cause hematuria. Having hematuria due to nephritis is a serious matter, but you should not blindly assume that it is nephritis when you have hematuria. Because there are many urinary system diseases that will cause symptoms of hematuria, such as urinary system stones, urinary system tuberculosis, urinary system tumor diseases, etc., which will cause varying degrees of urinary hematuria symptoms.

Patients with hematuria should also be alert to these five diseases:

1. Urinary system stones. If middle-aged and elderly people have symptoms of hematuria, urinary tract stones should also be considered. In particular, some elderly people who usually stay in bed for a long time are more likely to develop osteoporosis. The calcium in the bones is released, making it easier to form urinary tract stones. Secondly, elderly men are more prone to prostate stones. Both of these diseases can cause hematuria.

2. Urinary tract tuberculosis. Tuberculosis may also occur in the urinary system. For example, patients with renal tuberculosis in the early stages of the disease may present with painless hematuria. Usually there are symptoms such as fever, night sweats, weight loss, etc. When the condition worsens and affects the urinary tract, symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain will also appear.

3. Urinary tract infection. If you do not pay attention to personal hygiene, suffer from diabetes, or have a urinary catheter, it may cause a urinary tract infection, resulting in symptoms such as hematuria, frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating, and fever.

4. Urinary system tumors. If middle-aged and elderly people experience painless hematuria, they should also consider urinary system tumor diseases. Common urinary system tumor diseases that can cause hematuria include kidney tumors and bladder tumors.

5. Autologous bleeding diseases. Diseases other than the urinary system can also cause symptoms of hematuria. Common autologous bleeding diseases in clinical practice include hemophilia, purpura, leukemia, aplastic anemia, etc.

The above-mentioned diseases are more likely to cause hematuria in middle-aged and elderly people. Therefore, middle-aged and elderly people should pay attention to preventive measures in their daily lives, especially to develop good living habits, avoid excessive fatigue, and insist on physical exercise. If symptoms occur, you must go to a regular hospital as soon as possible so that you can receive targeted treatment in a timely manner.
