What diseases can cactus cure?

Cactus is a relatively common plant. In addition to its ornamental value, it also has a very good health-care effect and a good effect in treating diseases. It is rich in nutrients, for example, it can treat tenosynovitis and has a good therapeutic effect on mumps. The cactus can be crushed and applied to the affected area to have the effect of reducing swelling and relieving pain. In addition, it has a good therapeutic effect on knife wounds, burns, and insect bites.

The healing properties of cactus:

Cactus is cold in nature and bitter in taste. It contains triterpenes, malic acid, succinic acid, potassium carbonate and other ingredients. It has the effects of promoting qi and blood circulation, nourishing the stomach, clearing away heat and detoxifying. The following diseases can be cured:

1. Tenosynovitis

Choose a piece of cactus that is slightly larger than the affected area of ​​the tendon sheath, remove the thorns, scrape off the epidermis on one side, apply it to the affected area, and fix it with medical tape. Replace the cactus with fresh one every other day. Generally, the lump will disappear automatically after a few replacements.

2. Mumps

Take an appropriate amount of fresh cactus stems, remove the thorns and hairs on the surface, wash and mash them, apply them evenly to the swollen area under the ear, and fix them with gauze. Change the dressing twice a day.

3. Burns and insect bites

Use a knife to scrape off the skin of the cactus, mash it and apply it to the injured area, disinfect and bandage it to treat burns. Mash the whole herb and apply the juice to the affected area to treat snake and insect bites.

4. Stomach disease, acute bacillary dysentery

Take 1-2 taels of cactus root and stew it with pork tripe to cure stomach problems. Take 1-2 liang of fresh cactus, decoct it in water and drink it to treat acute bacillary dysentery.

5. Acute mastitis

Remove the thorns from the cactus, mash it, add 50 ml of 95% alcohol and mix well, apply topically twice a day.

6. Frostbite

Take a cactus, remove the thorns, mash it into a paste, apply it to the affected area, bandage it with gauze, and remove the dressing after 5 consecutive days. This method is suitable for degrees I to II frostbite (it is not suitable for patients with frostbite that has already ulcerated).

7. Diabetic foot

First clean the ulcer surface with hydrogen peroxide and saline to remove necrotic tissue and purulent secretions. Then take 30 grams of fresh cactus, peel and mash it into a paste, apply it evenly to the affected area, and bandage it with gauze. Change the dressing 2 to 3 times a day for 5 to 7 days.

8. Suppurative otitis media

Take equal parts of cactus and dandelion, wash and mash them to extract the juice, then drip it into the ear, 2 to 4 drops each time, 2 to 3 times a day. This prescription is effective for patients with suppurative otitis media. It usually takes about 3 to 5 days to take the medicine. It has good antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, heat-clearing and detoxifying effects.

9. Mumps

Mash an appropriate amount of cactus, add a little duck egg white, mix thoroughly and evenly, bottle and seal for later use. During treatment, spread the paste on thick sterilized gauze and choose the size of the patch depending on the extent of swelling in the patient's parotid gland. If the disease is unilateral, apply the patch to only one side; if the disease is bilateral, apply the patch to both sides. Change the dressing once a day. If the medicine is taken in time, it will usually be cured after two times.
