How to remedy tooth demineralization

How to remedy tooth demineralization

There are two main reasons for tooth demineralization. One is congenital and the other is acquired. The main acquired reason is frequent drinking of carbonated beverages, which is an important cause of tooth demineralization. Recently, there have been frequent media reports that some children do not drink boiled water but only drink carbonated beverages, which is an important cause of tooth demineralization.

1. Know the causes of tooth demineralization

People who have tooth demineralization should know the causes of their tooth demineralization. There are two causes of tooth demineralization: congenital factors and acquired factors. Acquired factors include: frequent drinking of carbonated beverages, improper wearing of orthotics, etc.

2. Pay attention to maintaining oral hygiene

Teeth are demineralized, so you need to pay attention to maintaining oral hygiene at all times. Especially after meals, you should clean your mouth. It is best to brush your teeth, or at least rinse your mouth after meals to remove any residues between your teeth in time to avoid further damage to your teeth.

3. Pay attention to your diet and drink plenty of boiled water

When teeth are demineralized, you also need to pay attention to diet and eat foods that are good for your teeth, such as rice, peas, broad beans, etc. These foods are high in phosphorus and can form a buffer system to prevent excessive acidification of the oral cavity. It protects the teeth and prevents demineralized teeth from getting worse. Avoid eating too cold, hard, sweet or acidic food to avoid causing tooth discomfort. Usually, pay attention to drinking more boiled water to clean your mouth.

4. Drink carbonated drinks in moderation

When teeth are demineralized, you should also be careful to drink carbonated drinks in moderation, such as cola or sports drinks, which contain a variety of organic acids, and these organic acids can decompose calcium and then erode the teeth, causing tooth demineralization.

5. Choose the right toothbrush

When teeth are demineralized, you need to choose the right toothbrush to brush your teeth. Although hard-bristled toothbrushes have a good cleaning effect, hard-bristled toothbrushes cause more wear and tear on teeth than soft-bristled toothbrushes. If used frequently, they will damage tooth enamel, aggravate demineralization, and make teeth more prone to yellowing. The correct approach should be to alternate between using a hard-bristle toothbrush and a dyed-bristle toothbrush, and use a hard-bristle toothbrush every 3 to 4 days to give your teeth a thorough cleaning.

6. Calcium supplement

When teeth are demineralized, you need to supplement calcium and vitamin D in time to strengthen your teeth. You also need to bask in the sun frequently to promote the teeth to absorb more calcium and keep your teeth healthy!

7. Seek medical attention promptly

When tooth demineralization is severe, you need to go to the hospital for treatment in time. You can have porcelain teeth as a compensation under the guidance of a doctor.
