The "fire" mentioned in traditional Chinese medicine actually refers to certain heat symptoms in the body. Among them, liver fire is divided into two types: deficiency and excess. Real fire is mostly caused by the destruction of the liver's function of regulating and dispersing qi, resulting in stagnation of liver qi; virtual fire is excessive fire due to yin deficiency, mostly caused by liver and kidney yin deficiency.

Ten symptoms of liver fire

2. Head hot, red face, irritability, restless sleep, flank pain, bitter taste in the mouth, red tongue with thin coating.

3. Weight loss due to hyperactivity of liver fire. Weight loss, irritability, impatience, dizziness, burning pain in the ribs, bitter taste in the mouth and red eyes, short and dark urine, dry and hard stools, red tongue with yellow coating.

4 Liver fire rushes up to cause blood on the tongue. Bleeding on the tongue, swollen and hard tongue, yellow tongue coating, red edges of the tongue, or thorns, and symptoms include heat in the head, irritability, dizziness, red face and eyes, bitter taste in the mouth and dry throat, tinnitus, deafness, pain in the ribs, impatience and anger, yellow and red urine, dry stool, and even fainting.

5. Cough due to liver fire attacking the lungs. Symptoms include coughing, shortness of breath, and difficult sputum discharge, which may be like plum pits or like rotten cotton and difficult to cough up. When coughing, the face becomes red and there is pain in the ribs. Dry throat, irritability. The tip of the tongue is red, and the tongue coating is thin, yellow and dry.

6. Stomach pain caused by burning liver fire. There is burning pain in the stomach, which is urgent and refuses to be pressed. The patient prefers cold to heat, has heartburn and acid refusing, dry and bitter mouth, and even vomiting of bitter water, or vomiting blood or bloody stool. Irritability, constipation and red urine. The tongue is red with yellow coating.

7. Heart and liver fire is strong and menstrual fluid is sticky

The menstruation is heavy and heavy, or even uterine bleeding, with a thick paste-like texture, bright red, purple-red, or purple-black in color, and accompanied by red face and eyes, irritability, insomnia, pain in the chest and flanks, bitter taste in the mouth and thirst, or fever during menstruation, vomiting blood, nosebleed, red tongue with yellow coating.

8 Hyperactivity of liver fire causes menorrhagia, premature menstruation, excessive menstrual flow or prolonged menstruation, bright red or purple-black color, thick texture, with blood clots, red face, upset, irritability, chest tightness, breast swelling, dizziness, headache, frequent dreams at night, bitter and dry mouth, loss of appetite, dry and hard stools, short and dark urine, red tongue with yellow coating.

Moxibustion nourishes the liver
