How to treat dry eczema in children

The scientific name of dry eczema is seborrheic eczema, also known as fissure eczema. It is mainly caused by the loss of skin moisture, which leads to reduced sebum secretion. At this time, excessive dryness of the skin will cause fine cracks in the stratum corneum and the skin will appear pink. It often occurs in the autumn and winter seasons when the weather is relatively dry. At this time, it should be treated in time. The first thing to do in treatment is moisturizing.

How to treat baby's dry eczema

The key to dealing with dry eczema is moisturizing. Parents should frequently apply moisturizing creams, lotions or body oils to their children, especially after washing their hands or taking a bath. They should apply more to the child's cheeks, outsides of the limbs, shoulders, backs, belly and buttocks and other areas prone to dryness to keep their delicate skin moisturized.

At the same time, when taking your children to outdoor activities, try to take them to a sheltered place, and do not let the cold wind in autumn and winter blow directly on the children. Also, do not expose your children to direct sunlight. Secondly, a reasonable diet helps to keep the baby's skin healthy and delicate. It is best to let the child drink more water and eat more egg yolks, carrots, green leafy vegetables, fruits and other foods rich in vitamin A and vitamin B.

The key to bathing your baby properly is not the number of times, but choosing the right method. Experts say that for families with good thermal insulation, they can insist on bathing their children every day, but be careful not to make the water temperature too high. Use bath gel 1-2 times a week, rinse with clean water at other times, and do not scrub your child.

Causes of dry eczema in babies

When talking about the cause of dry eczema, experts said that it is not caused by diet, but is caused by factors such as climate and environment. Children in particular have poor adaptability to the external environment, and their skin is more sensitive in dry and cold seasons. Of course, sometimes it may be because the child did not take a proper bath.

Nowadays, parents have cultivated the habit of bathing their children every day, but the frequency of bathing is closely related to the season. The humidity is high in summer and the skin sweats a lot, so it’s okay to take a shower every day. It is cold in winter and there is a big temperature difference between indoor and outdoor. When the heating season comes, the air becomes even drier. Children's sebaceous glands are not fully developed. Bathing every day will make the epidermis drier and drier, and eczema will appear after the water is lost.
