Dry drowning is relatively rare in daily life and the probability of its occurrence is relatively small. Of course, once dry drowning occurs, we must strengthen good prevention. It will be relatively hidden and have a certain incubation period. Generally, if there is no attack within three days after going ashore, it can be basically ruled out. Dry drowning is caused by spasm of the laryngeal canopy, which leads to respiratory obstruction, which can easily lead to death of the patient. Does dry drowning have an incubation period? Dry drowning refers to a child's laryngeal spasm due to strong stimulation, resulting in the closure of the glottis and the inability to breathe normally, leading to hypoxia. In severe cases, suffocation or even death may occur. To put it simply, dry drowning occurs when the laryngeal spasm occurs while holding your breath, which prevents air and water from entering, essentially suffocating yourself to death. Therefore, the biggest danger of dry drowning is suffocation. Unlike secondary drowning which can cause pulmonary edema or alveolar dysfunction, dry drowning can cause the patient to be unable to breathe due to laryngeal spasm, eventually leading to death from lack of oxygen. What to do if you suffer from dry drowning 1. Remove foreign objects from the mouth and nose and quickly tilt the child's head back. Clear the mud, weeds, vomit, etc. from the child's mouth and nose to open the airway. 2. To encourage water to flow out of the body, place the child's abdomen on your bent knees, with the head down. Pressing on the back forces the water out of the airway and stomach. 3. External chest resuscitation When performing external chest cardiopulmonary resuscitation on children, make sure to press the correct area. Overlap your hands and apply steady, rhythmic pressure perpendicular to your sternum. 4. Artificial respiration Dry drowning can cause the airway to be closed, so it is best for parents to perform artificial respiration first to help open the child's airway. After each two mouth-to-mouth breaths, immediately perform 30 chest compressions. At the same time, the amount of air blown out during mouth-to-mouth breathing should be large. 5. Seek medical treatment promptly and call 120 for help. Quickly send the child to the nearest hospital to seek professional medical treatment. |
