Why do I get a rash on my skin after soaking in sea water?

If skin rashes occur after soaking in sea water, it is mostly due to allergies, especially for people with allergic constitutions. This phenomenon is likely to occur because the salt content in sea water is relatively high, as well as some other substances, which are important causes of rashes. Generally, as long as you leave the sea water and undergo certain conditioning or apply ointments, you can achieve a good therapeutic effect and the symptoms will disappear on their own in a short period of time.

reason

Bathers' rash usually occurs several hours after leaving the sea, and localized, itchy and burning red papules or swellings or blisters appear in areas covered by the swimsuit, especially on the pressure edges, such as the waist, buttocks and chest. The lesions may last for 3 to 7 days, but they will heal naturally even without treatment. The cause of the disease is currently believed to be the toxins injected into the skin by the larvae of coelenterates.

Symptoms and signs

After swimming at the beach or working in the sea, within half an hour to 1-2 hours, itchy skin will appear in the covered parts of clothes, including the buttocks and waist for men and the pressure areas under the bra or below for women in addition to the above-mentioned areas. Edema, erythema, papules or wheal-like lesions will appear soon. The rash will reach its peak after 2-3 days. In severe cases, the rash can spread all over the body, with systemic symptoms such as headache, chills, and fever. The rash will usually disappear on its own within 1-2 weeks.
