Can vinegar cure leukoplakia?

Vinegar is a common condiment and an essential condiment in the kitchen. Vinegar has many uses, such as removing tea stains and fermenting food. White vinegar can also treat white spots, but the specific effect varies from person to person. Using white vinegar to treat white spots is a folk remedy, but it is recommended not to use it blindly. Let's learn more about whether vinegar can cure white spots?

Can vinegar cure leukoplakia?

1. If you use white vinegar to apply on white spots, white vinegar cannot promote the synthesis of melanin in the patient's body, and it has no activating effect on tyrosinase activity. Therefore, it is recommended that patients do not blindly use white vinegar to apply on white spots, or other folk remedies. In order to avoid the spread of white spots due to improper use of medication, if you use folk remedies, you must do so under the guidance of a doctor. If any adverse symptoms occur, you must communicate with your doctor in a timely manner.

2. Many folk remedies for treating vitiligo mention the use of white vinegar, but from the actual efficacy point of view, white vinegar cannot really treat vitiligo. White vinegar contains no or very little other ingredients besides 3-5% acetic acid and water. It is made by fermenting distilled wine or directly mixing it with food-grade acetic acid. It is colorless and has a simple taste. Used in cooking, especially in Western cuisine to make kimchi (the sour taste comes from vinegar rather than fermentation). It can also be used as a household cleaner, for example to remove buildup inside a coffee machine. The acetic acid contained in white vinegar has strong permeability and can promote blood circulation. It also plays a role in cleaning and disinfection. However, this method has no obvious effect in treating vitiligo. Patients are advised not to use it blindly.

Patients with vitiligo should take precautions:

1. During treatment, we should pay attention to reducing external stimulation during the progressive stage of vitiligo. External mechanical stimulation, such as pressure, friction and trauma on the skin, and too tight belts can promote the appearance of white spots. Other forms of local stimulation, such as burns, sunburn, radiation, chemicals, frostbite, and infection can also promote the spread of white spots.

2. Patients should pay attention to the importance of scientific diet. In addition to actively cooperating with doctors for treatment, patients with vitiligo should scientifically adjust their diet and pay attention to their daily life, which will help improve the treatment effect. Because exposure to the sun can easily cause skin inflammation, melanocytes are damaged and lose the ability to produce melanin, so depigmentation spots, erythema, and even blisters appear, and there will also be a burning sensation. The white spots can be larger than the original area.

3. To prevent the occurrence of vitiligo, we must eat more high-protein, low-fat, low-sugar and high-vitamin B foods according to the patient's condition and physical condition. Be careful that some foods may aggravate the condition. Pay attention to rest, combine work and rest, and get enough sleep. Participate in more cultural and sports activities that are beneficial to your physical and mental health, but the entertainment time should not be too long and the amount of exercise should not be too much.
