Is it serious to have low-density shadows in the liver?

The appearance of low-density shadows in the liver is a manifestation of liver disease. This is an imaging manifestation that may appear during a CT scan if liver disease is present. The most common is liver cysts. We know that liver cysts are relatively common in life. Most cysts are benign cysts, and many are caused by congenital reasons. Of course, the cause of liver cancer cannot be ignored, so further examinations should be carried out in a timely manner.

What is a liver cyst? All cystic lesions that grow on the liver are collectively called hepatic cysts. The liver is the largest solid organ in the human body, most of which is located in the hypochondrium (right liver), with only a small part crossing the midline (left liver) and covering the upper part of the stomach. The texture of normal liver is as tender as the fresh pork liver we see when buying vegetables. More than 90% of the cysts we see most often are congenital liver cysts (also called true cysts).

Most congenital liver cysts have no effect on the human body or the liver because they are very small, so there are no symptoms. Most of them are discovered during physical examinations. Symptoms may appear as the cysts grow larger and more numerous.

Precautions for patients with liver cysts: 1. Liver cysts are mostly congenital rather than parasitic, often multiple, and more common in women. For treatment, for cysts smaller than 5 cm and asymptomatic and without liver damage, dynamic observation is performed without treatment; 2. If symptoms become intolerable, and have affected liver function, complications occur, and there is malignancy, surgical treatment can be performed. If the liver cyst is a large solitary cyst, puncture and drainage therapy or injection of anhydrous alcohol can be performed; 3. Eat more fungi, such as fungus, shiitake mushrooms, mushrooms, etc., which can improve immunity. Fish is rich in protein and easy to digest. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to increase the content of VC. Do not drink alcohol or smoke to reduce the burden on the liver;

4. Eat less or no fried, pickled, greasy, spicy or irritating food. Eat a light diet, maintain a good mood, and face everything with a broad mind. Liver cysts are generally benign, single or multiple, and may be connected to the gallbladder or blocked.
