What is acid reflux in the stomach?
Since the stomach is the place that helps us digest, once stomach acid occurs, it must be treated promptly. Otherwise, if it is allowed to develop, it will cause more serious stomach problems or even other diseases. Before treating stomach problems, we must first know the causes of these stomach problems. Only in this way can we achieve the treatment effect fundamentally. So, what exactly is the acid reflux in the stomach? Let’s take a look at what causes acid reflux in the stomach!

1. Pantothenic acid is usually caused by excessive gastric acid. The main reasons for increased gastric acid secretion are as follows: (1) Physical factors related to genetics. (2) The gastric mucosal parietal cells are subjected to long-term stimulation and excitement, such as: 1. The parasympathetic nerves are excited for a long time and continue to produce acetylcholine. 2. The gastrin cells (G cells) secrete gastrin excessively. (3) The reactivity of parietal cells increases or the total number increases. Even if the total number of parietal cells is normal, the mucosa can be damaged by high gastric acid secretion. (4) When the function of the duodenal mucosa to release certain hormones is reduced, it can also lead to increased secretion of gastric acid and gastrin. It can be seen that the overall increase in the number of gastric mucosal parietal cells and neuroendocrine dysfunction are the main factors causing increased gastric acid secretion and are also the basis for the formation of duodenal ulcers.

2. Notes: (1) Eat small meals frequently, at regular times and in regular amounts, and avoid overeating. (2) Prevent anemia or malnutrition. For those with anemia or malnutrition, add foods rich in protein and heme iron to their diet, such as lean meat, fish, chicken, liver, kidneys and other offal, and pay attention to the supplementation of vitamin C and B vitamins, including vitamin B12 and folic acid, and increase the amount of fresh vegetables and fruits, such as tomatoes, eggplants, red dates, and green leafy vegetables, to provide vitamin C and help iron absorption. (3) Regulate gastric acid secretion. Patients should eat meat with short and soft meat fibers, such as fish, shrimp, chicken, tender beef, lean pork, etc. Patients with atrophic gastritis have low gastric acid secretion and should be given the above-mentioned fish soup, chicken soup, meat soup and mushroom soup, as well as concentrated soups rich in nitrogen extracts, rice porridge, sour foods, fragrant condiments and appropriate amounts of sweet and sour foods. On the contrary, patients with chronic superficial gastritis accompanied by high acid should avoid eating original soups rich in nitrogen extracts, and use boiled fish, shrimp, chicken, lean meat, etc. to cook dishes, such as steamed fish fillets, stewed fish fillets, fried chicken breast meatballs, minced meat and egg custard, etc., to reduce the secretion of gastric acid caused by irritation of the stomach; drink more milk, soy milk, toast, fresh vegetables and fruits to neutralize stomach acid. (4) Food choices should be light, less greasy, less irritating, and easily digestible. At the same time, avoid eating foods that are too hard, too sour, too spicy, too salty, too cold, too hot, or too rough. Such as cold meat and vegetable dishes, hot and sour cabbage, sweet and sour lotus root slices, etc. The staple foods can be thin noodles, dough slices, steamed buns, flower rolls, steamed cakes, dumplings, wontons, bread, rice, etc. Avoid eating unfermented pasta, such as homemade pancakes, stuffed pancakes, dumplings, etc. There are also foods that are crudely made from whole grains and difficult to digest, such as corn tortillas, glutinous rice, rice cakes, etc. These foods stay in the stomach for a long time and will increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract.

(5) Food should be prepared in a fine, minced, soft and rotten state. Steaming, boiling, stewing, braising, and simmering are commonly used cooking methods to protect the gastric mucosa. Eat more vegetables and fruits that do not contain crude fiber, such as tender cucumbers, tomatoes (peeled and seeds removed), peeled tender eggplants, winter melons, tender cabbage, spinach leaves, potatoes, carrots, etc. When cooking, they should be cut into thin strips, small cubes, thin slices, and cooked. Some can be made into puree, such as mashed potatoes, to make them easy to digest. Fruits should be ripe and the seeds should be removed when eating, such as bananas, apples, pears, etc., and you should develop the habit of chewing slowly. Medications that suppress stomach acid may also be used. (6) Note that some foods cannot be eaten on an empty stomach, such as bananas, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, milk, soy milk, yogurt, tea, sugar, persimmons, and hawthorns. Otherwise, it is easy to damage the gastric mucosa, cause acid reflux, and cause nutrient loss.
