Why can't I lift my eyelids?

The inability to lift the eyelids may be due to congenital factors, but it cannot be ruled out that it is caused by acquired factors. If it affects your normal life, you need to go to the hospital in time and then improve it through some methods.

1. Congenital factors: If you cannot lift your eyelids, it may be due to genetic factors, such as congenital ptosis, which usually causes the eyelids to cover part of the pupil. If the condition is serious, it may also cause amblyopia. Most of the cases are caused by hypoplasia of the levator palpebrae superioris muscle, but it is not ruled out that it is caused by levator palpebrae superioris muscle defect;

2. Acquired factors: If you stay up late for a long time or overuse your eyes, it will usually affect the quality of sleep, not being able to maintain adequate sleep, and dry skin. If the skin is dry and cannot be replenished with water in time, it will cause the skin to become loose, and usually cause the eyelids to be unable to lift up. The condition can be improved through hot compresses, which can promote blood circulation and help relieve symptoms of eye fatigue. In addition, you should maintain an optimistic attitude and get enough sleep.

If the symptom of being unable to lift the eyelids is severe, you need to go to the hospital for treatment in time. It can be treated through surgery. During the operation, the loose skin can be removed and then sutured, which will help improve the symptom of being unable to lift the eyelids.
