Tenon® (generic name: imipenem-cilastatin sodium for injection), a prescription drug, is an intravenous infusion formulation developed and produced by Merck & Co., Inc. (known as Merck in the United States and Canada).

Tylenol® is a very broad-spectrum antibiotic, suitable for mixed infections caused by multiple pathogens and aerobic/anaerobic bacteria, and for the treatment of various moderate and severe infections; as well as early treatment before the pathogen is identified.

TaiNeng® is a compound preparation, whose components are imipenem and cilastatin sodium. Imipenem is a new type of β-lactam antibiotic imipenem; cilastatin sodium is a specific enzyme inhibitor that can block the metabolism of imipenem in the kidney, thereby increasing the concentration of unchanged imipenem in the urinary tract. Imipenem belongs to the imipenem class of antibiotics, which has a broader spectrum of activity than any other antibiotic that has been studied.

The tolerability of Tenon® is as good as that of cefazolin, cephalothin and cefotaxime, with a good safety profile and a low incidence of side effects.

This product (imipenem and cilastatin sodium for injection) is a very broad-spectrum antibiotic, particularly suitable for mixed infections caused by multiple pathogens and aerobic/anaerobic bacteria, as well as early treatment before the pathogen is identified. This product is suitable for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria: intra-abdominal infection, lower respiratory tract infection, gynecological infection, sepsis, urogenital tract infection, bone and joint infection, skin and soft tissue infection, endocarditis

This product is suitable for the treatment of mixed infections caused by sensitive aerobic/anaerobic strains. These mixed infections are mainly related to bacterial contamination from feces, vagina, skin and oral cavity. Bacteroides fragilis is the most common anaerobic bacteria in these mixed infections. They are usually resistant to aminoglycosides, cephalosporins and penicillins, but sensitive to this product.

It has been demonstrated that this product still has potent antibacterial activity against many cephalosporin-resistant bacteria, including infections caused by aerobic and anaerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria; the cephalosporin antibiotics to which these bacteria are resistant include cefazolin, cefoperazone, cephalothin, cefoxitin, cefotaxime, hydroxycarboxygenamide, ceftriaxone, cefamandole, ceftazidime and ceftriaxone. Similarly, this product is still effective for many infections caused by bacteria resistant to aminoglycoside antibiotics (such as gentamicin, amikacin, tobramycin) or penicillins (ampicillin, carbenicillin, penicillin, ticarcillin, piperacillin, azlocillin, mezlocillin).
