Hot or cold water for eye pain

Eye pain is a common phenomenon in people's daily lives. For example, if you stare at your phone for too long, or look at your computer for too long, or read a book for a long time, you will experience eye pain due to excessive eye fatigue. There are many causes of eye pain. For example, sinusitis or glaucoma, so we must attach great importance to it, find out the cause of eye pain in time, and treat it symptomatically as soon as possible.

  1. Causes of eye pain

Eye pain (deep, dull pain in or behind the eye) is most often caused by intraocular or orbital disorders (eg, uveitis, glaucoma, scleritis, endophthalmitis, orbital pseudotumor). Dry eyes can also cause eye pain. In addition, crying and swollen eyes can also cause eye pain.

  2. Heat or ice for sore eyes

    1. Use ice packs for swollen eyes

Girls may cry because of a touching movie or something sad. After their eyes are swollen from crying, they can immediately apply ice to reduce the swelling. This can effectively constrict the blood vessels around the eyes, thereby helping to reduce swelling of the muscles around the eyes and inhibit congestion of the eyes.

    2. Use hot compresses when your eyes are inflamed and swollen

Girls may get eye inflammation due to wearing contact lenses and other reasons, and some inflammation may cause swollen eyes. In this case, hot compress can effectively reduce the swelling of the eyes. Girls can fill a heat-resistant bottle with hot water, wrap a towel around the bottle, and then apply it to the inflamed and swollen eyes, which can effectively reduce the swelling of the eyes.

    3. The tissues around the eye sockets are rich in blood vessels. After a blunt blow, subcutaneous bleeding often causes large purple swellings. At this time, you must not massage or apply hot compresses to avoid aggravating the subcutaneous hematoma. Instead, you should immediately apply local cold compresses with ice bags or cool towels to reduce swelling and relieve pain. After 24 hours, you can switch to hot compress to promote the absorption of local blood stasis. Those with serious injuries should seek medical attention promptly to avoid vision damage.

    3. Ways to relieve eye pain

    1. Eye Movement

The essence is to rotate the eyeballs, and the order is that when the head rotates from top to bottom, and then left to right, the eyeballs move along with it. Relax your eyes for 2 minutes every time you work for 1 hour, and rotating your eyes can greatly relieve computer eye fatigue.

    2. Blink

After working for an hour, tilt your head back and blink frequently to keep the blood flowing. If your eyes are slightly swollen and painful, just blinking 2 to 3 times every hour can provide relief.

    3. Steaming eyes

Make a cup of tea with boiling water. While it's still hot, put your hands around the cup, open your eyes wide and put your face on your hands. Let the aroma of the hot tea fill your eyes, alternating between the left and right eyes. The best type of tea is chrysanthemum and wolfberry tea, and avoid drinking drinks such as coffee.

    4. Food Nutrition Method

A family diet consisting mainly of vegetables and fruits can help relieve eye pain and prevent long-term eye diseases.
