Everyone knows that for the sake of their own and their babies' health, mothers cannot take many things, including medicines, during the breastfeeding period. Generally, ear inflammation should consider diseases such as otitis media. If the condition is not serious, you can deal with it yourself at home. Use a sterilized iodine cotton ball to clean and wipe the inside of the ear. If the condition is serious, you should go to the hospital for treatment, find out the cause and understand the situation, and follow the doctor's arrangements. Question 1 considers otitis media, one type of which is suppurative otitis media, which is mostly caused by colds. Initially, the ear pain is obvious and presents as a swollen pain with possible fever. The pain is relieved after the eardrum is perforated and pus is discharged. The other type is called non-suppurative otitis media. This type of otitis media does not cause pus discharge, but only causes stuffiness in the ears, hearing loss, or tinnitus. This is caused by inflammation of the Eustachian tube, which causes changes in pressure in the middle ear cavity. The treatment of suppurative otitis media is: if conditions permit, perform pus culture and drug sensitivity test, and select antibiotics based on the test results, either orally or by injection. Local ear: If the amount of pus is large and thick, clean it with hydrogen peroxide and then use sensitive antibiotic ear drops. If it is non-suppurative otitis media, the main thing is to reduce the edema of the Eustachian tube, use nasal drops, anti-edema drugs, etc., and use antibiotics appropriately. Question 2: In addition to causing ear leakage and hearing loss, the perforation of the eardrum caused by chronic otitis media also poses a risk of forming cholesteatoma, so it is necessary to repair it. A ruptured eardrum can be repaired using the fascia of the temporal muscle next to the ear, with a success rate of over 90%. This myringoplasty or tympanoplasty can eliminate ear leakage and improve hearing. Otitis media is an inflammation of the middle ear canal due to infection, which is mostly a complication caused by upper respiratory tract infections such as the common cold or throat infection. Antibiotics, topical ear drops and other medications should be actively used to treat the disease to prevent further aggravation of the condition. If the condition is serious, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time. Ear inflammation during breastfeeding can be considered as external otitis. Guidance: At present, you should eat a reasonable diet, such as drinking more water, supplementing vitamins, increasing nutrition, strengthening hygiene, and keeping the ears clean. Because it is a short-term, external use, you can use drugs such as ofloxacin as appropriate, and antibiotics can be used systemically if necessary. |
