These misunderstandings in the treatment of urticaria should be known and prevented early

Urticaria is a disease in which local skin edema occurs, which is mostly caused by the expansion of blood vessels under the skin, leading to increased permeability of body fluids, causing urticaria attacks. The causes are mostly due to allergies, viral infections or genetic factors. When the disease occurs, it will cause abnormal itching of the skin, accompanied by red wheals, and in severe cases, swollen erythema will appear. Although urticaria is not a major disease, it often recurs and cannot even be completely cured, so special attention should be paid during treatment to avoid misunderstandings in treatment.

1. Avoid hormone drugs

When it comes to choosing medicines to treat urticaria, you must choose products that are based on hormones. Most of the current treatment products are based on immunosuppressants, resistance drugs, etc. These products can only play a short-term inhibitory role in essence. They appear to be able to quickly eliminate redness and swelling, but in fact they do not solve the fundamental problem. If these products are discontinued, symptoms may recur with more severe effects.

2. Reduce hot water wiping

For subcutaneous redness and swelling after the onset of the disease, patients should try to reduce wiping with hot water. Although wiping may relieve the itching sensation immediately, it may cause more severe itching later. At the same time, hot water causes the temperature of the affected area to rise, making the skin more permeable, aggravating skin erosion, and the condition may become more serious.

3. No scratching

Once the disease occurs, the affected area will be extremely itchy. But if the patient scratches, it will only cause more and more itching, resulting in a vicious cycle. At the same time, if you scratch the skin, it may cause bacterial infection and cause scars on the skin.

4. No hairy food allowed

Patients should also try to reduce their consumption of seafood and protein-containing foods, such as beef, lamb, fish, etc., which may become allergens and cause recurrent attacks of urticaria. During the treatment period, the patient should try to keep his diet light, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and strictly refrain from drinking and smoking, etc., in order to protect his treatment.
