What to do if the wire of braces pierces your mouth

Braces can be said to be a tool that some people use to change the straightness of their teeth. But everyone knows that most braces are actually made of steel wire. So sometimes, after wearing wire braces, there will be wires of different lengths at the end of the braces, and if you are not careful, you will prick your mouth. So when we encounter the situation where the braces wire pierces our mouth, how should we solve this problem?

Will my mouth be pricked after wearing wire correctors?

1. It doesn’t necessarily prick your mouth! Generally, after installing the implant, the doctor will ask you whether the ends on both sides are uncomfortable. If they rub your mouth, you must adjust them immediately. If the corresponding mucosal damage occurs during orthodontic treatment, it is very likely that the body is lacking in vitamins B and C, or certain trace elements. However, the most important reason is that the body's immunity is decreased.

2. Although the cause of oral ulcers is still unclear, there is one thing we can do to improve immunity. First, you can run more to exercise. Second, grind vitamin C tablets into powder and cover the ulcer surface. Third, apply honey or propolis on it to shrink the wound and gradually heal it. Fourth, take oral ulcer powder or Huasu tablets and iodine lozenges orally. It is best to regulate your physical condition with traditional Chinese medicine.

Are there other correction methods besides wire correctors?

1. For example, invisible braces are not as conspicuous in appearance as wire braces, and most people cannot tell that you are wearing braces. In terms of comfort, wire fixation can cause tooth pain, while invisible braces do not have brackets and archwires and do not cause discomfort. Cleaning invisible braces is convenient for wearing and removing, and it is easy to remove food residues. In addition, wire braces can only be removed and cleaned by a doctor.

2. The correction time for the two is also different. Invisible braces may take less than a year to complete the correction, while wire braces will take at least a year. However, the effect after correction is the same. If you have higher requirements for the correction process, you can choose invisible braces. If your financial ability is limited, it is best to use wire braces for correction.

So simply clip the extra wire of the braces with tweezers. If you still get oral ulcers after wearing braces, continue to treat them after a few times. They will not grow after you get used to it. For cleaning, you can use a mouthwash containing chlorhexidine to reduce inflammation and inhibit bacteria, such as the most common KIN Gillan mouthwash.
