When we hear the name of the disease pilomatricoma, we are all frightened by the word "tumor" in it. Because many malignant tumors now pose a serious threat to patients' health, many people are afraid of tumors. In fact, pilomatricoma is a benign tumor and generally does not pose much threat to the patient's life. Pilomatrix tumors are common in women and are often found on the face, arms, etc. Pilomatricoma, also known as calcified epithelioma, is a benign tumor derived from primitive epithelial germ cells that differentiate into pilomatricoma cells. It is more common in women, usually occurring in childhood or adolescence. The disease can transform into hair matrix cancer, with a malignant transformation rate of about 2.6%. The peak incidence period is 5 to 15 years old for females and 5 years old for males. This disease is not inherited, but a few have a family history. This disease, also known as calcified epithelioma, is a benign epithelial tumor. Mainly seen in young women. It is common on the arms, face, neck, thighs and scalp. The lesions are single, firm intradermal or subcutaneous nodules with a pale blue or normal-colored surface and are usually less than 3 cm in diameter. It is hard, lobed, and occasionally cystic. Although the tumor may be connected to the skin, the base can be moved and rarely ruptures. The disease progresses slowly and there are no subjective symptoms. Family histories of Gardner syndrome and myotonic dystrophy have been reported. What causes pilomatricoma? Pilomatricoma, also known as calcified epithelioma, is a benign tumor derived from primitive epithelial germ cells that differentiate into pilomatricoma cells. It is more common in women, usually occurring in childhood or adolescence. The disease can transform into hair matrix cancer, with a malignant transformation rate of about 2.6%. The peak incidence period is 5 to 15 years old for females and 5 years old for males. Piloma is not hereditary, but a few have a family history. Pilomatrix tumors are common on the scalp, face and neck, but can also occur on the trunk, limbs and other parts of the body. The tumors are located intradermally or subcutaneously and are usually solitary but occasionally multiple. Rarely, the tumor appears as a prominent, well-defined, dark red nodule. Common lesions are firm, deep nodules that are occasionally cystic. The surface skin appears normal, occasionally appearing bluish-red, or red and light blue due to its deeper location. The cause of pilomatricoma is unknown. Some patients have a history of local trauma before the damage occurs, and it may be related to myotonic dystrophy. The tumor is located deep in the dermis or subcutaneous tissue, has clear boundaries, and is often surrounded by a connective tissue capsule. The tumor cells aggregate into irregular islands and are buried in the stroma rich in fibroblasts. Tumor cell islands are mainly composed of two types of epidermal cells, namely alkaliphilic cells and ghost cells. In the early stage of lesions, alkalitropic cells are the majority in the tumor cell islands, while in the late stage, ghost cells are the main components. The dietary treatment remedies for pilomatricoma are: 1. 120g of Isatis root, 9g of honeysuckle, 9g of Forsythia, and 9g of Sophora flavescens. Take 1 dose daily, decoct twice and divide into eyes. 2. 30g of Hedyotis diffusa and 30g of Prunella vulgaris. Astragalus 30g, fleabane 15g, scutellaria baicalensis 10g, and liquorice 10g. Decoction in water, twice a day. How to prevent pilomatricoma? First of all, you should develop good living habits, have a regular schedule, don't stay up late, don't overwork, ensure a certain amount of sleep time and quality sleep, and don't smoke and drink excessively, because smoking and drinking can easily cause cancer. You should also pay more attention to your diet. Don't eat too much greasy, high-fat food that is difficult to digest. Don't eat irritating food, such as peppers, garlic, etc. Don't eat too hot and spoiled food. Drink plenty of water to promote metabolism. Ensure a certain amount of exercise every week, which can effectively improve the body's immunity and increase the body's ability to resist cold. |
