Can sleep disorders heal themselves?

Sleep disorder is the most painful thing for people, because people lose normal sleep, they will feel sleepy during the day, and often cannot fall asleep at night. Even if they want to rest, they are not sleepy. Sleep disorder cannot heal itself. You need to see a psychologist and use medication to assist in treatment.

Diet and health care: Specific dietary recommendations require consulting a doctor based on symptoms, eating a reasonable diet, and ensuring comprehensive and balanced nutrition. The diet should be light, and you should quit smoking, drinking, and coffee, and avoid spicy and irritating foods. You can drink a glass of warm milk before going to bed every day. Preventive care According to a survey by the World Health Organization, 27% of people have sleep problems. The Global Sleep and Health Program, sponsored by the International Mental Health Organization, launched a global event in 2001 - designating March 21st of each year, the first day of spring, as "World Sleep Day." The theme of World Sleep Day 2004 is "Pay attention to sleep health".

There are many reasons for sleep problems, such as certain sleep disorders, physical illness, emotional factors, lifestyle (excessive drinking of coffee and tea) and environmental factors (noise, crowding or pollution), etc. Once you identify the problem, you may be able to find a way to fix it and re-establish a regular sleep schedule.

Pathological etiology: It is currently believed that the main "sleep regulation center" is located in the ventral anterior region of the hypothalamus, namely the suprachiasmatic nucleus. In addition to causing sleep-wake cycle disorders, lesions in this area can also lead to changes in body temperature and eating activities. Disease Diagnosis The different characteristics of each type of sleep disorder are described in the following subsections.

Inspection method Laboratory examination:

1. The most important way to understand sleep disorders is to use an electroencephalogram (EEG) multi-lead recording device to monitor the sleep process throughout the night. Because complaints of disturbed sleep and daytime sleepiness have a variety of causes, multilead EEG recordings are essential for accurate diagnosis.

2. Various scale measurements such as Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS); nocturnal polysomnographic recordings (NPSG); Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), etc.
