How to treat a lump next to the ankle bone

People always inadvertently contract some diseases in life. Some are harmless, but some diseases will not affect the patient at the beginning. The longer the disease lurks in the patient's body, the more serious the disease will be. The appearance of a large abscess near the ankle bone is medically called a ganglion cyst. This disease develops slowly and is more common in women. So, how to treat a lump next to the ankle bone?

First, how to treat a lump next to the ankle bone? It may be related to chronic trauma. It may be caused by injury, overstrain (especially in the hands and fingers), osteoarthritis, some systemic immune diseases, or even infection. Some occupations that require long-term repetitive joint movements, such as typists, cargo handlers, or industries that require long-term computer operation, can cause or aggravate this disease. Common affected areas include the wrists, fingers, shoulders, etc. Women and diabetic patients are more likely to suffer from this disease. Ganglion cysts can occur at any age, but are more common in young and middle-aged people, and more common in women than in men. The cysts are slow growing, round, and usually no larger than 2 cm in diameter. There are also sudden discoverers. A few may disappear on their own or grow again. In some cases, apart from local swelling, there is no conscious discomfort and sometimes mild tenderness. In most cases, there is local soreness or discomfort, which affects activities. The size of the cyst has no direct relationship with the severity of the symptoms, but is related to the tension of the cyst. The greater the tension, the harder the tumor and the more obvious the pain.

Second, a small number of ganglion cysts may resolve on their own, but some patients still experience recurrent attacks after multiple treatments. Although the recurrence rate of conservative treatment of ganglion cysts is high, this method is the least invasive and easily accepted by patients, and can be used as the preferred method clinically. Ganglion cysts can be ruptured by squeezing and gradually absorbed on their own, but they may recur after treatment. Those that are connected to the joint cavity are not easy to rupture. The cyst fluid can be extracted by puncture, and then pressure and massage can be applied, or adrenal cortical hormone or hyaluronidase can be injected after the cyst fluid is extracted, and local pressure bandage can be applied for 2 days, which has a certain therapeutic effect. When other treatment methods are ineffective, ganglion cysts can be surgically removed. After surgery, strenuous activity of the affected joint should be avoided to prevent recurrence.

How to treat a lump next to the ankle bone? Holding the mouse for too long or with incorrect posture can easily lead to damage to the synovial cavity of the hand joint, thus causing a ganglion cyst. Therefore, office workers who need to use computers and mice for a long time should take a 5 to 10 minute break every hour and do stretching exercises or local massage. Do gentle hand exercises to relieve pain. Rotating your wrist is one of the simpler exercises. Twist your wrists for about 2 minutes. It exercises all wrist muscles, restores blood circulation, and eliminates the bent posture of the wrist. After exertion, rinse the affected area with hot water to promote blood circulation. Local massage can also help promote blood circulation.
