What ointment should I use for flea bites?

What ointment should I use for flea bites?

If you have pets at home, such as dogs, there may be fleas. If fleas bite people, they will often feel extremely painful and itchy. At this time, you should use medication to treat and reduce inflammation in time. For example, you can apply fluocinolone acetic acid ointment, or Liushen floral water, which have a good effect of relieving itching and swelling. Of course, you can also apply wind oil or cooling oil.

What ointment should I use for flea bites?

1. You need to use floral water and fluocinolone acetonide cream. First spray Liushen (it doesn't have to be this brand, just use whichever one you find effective!) anti-itching floral water, then apply fluocinolone acetonide cream. It can relieve itching and pain.

2. Water is needed. Change all your clothes immediately and soak them in water (it’s best if the water covers the clothes, as fleas are most afraid of water and this will drown the fleas and prevent you from being bitten again).

3. You need to use wind oil or cooling oil. You can apply wind oil (cooling oil is also fine) on the bitten area to relieve itching and remove scars. Open the lid, dip a small amount with a cotton swab and apply it evenly on the wound. Repeat the application every other day. The swelling will go away in three days and the scar will be gone in a week.

4. Soap is needed. When bitten by fleas, an organic acid, formic acid, is secreted from the flea's mouthparts. This substance can cause muscle soreness. Soap contains sodium salts of higher fatty acids. The sodium salts of these fatty acids become alkaline after hydrolysis and can quickly remove itching.

5. Garlic is needed. Use sliced garlic to rub the flea bite area repeatedly for one minute, which will have a significant analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. Even if the bitten area is ulcerated, you can also apply garlic. Generally, it will be able to reduce inflammation and swelling after 12 hours, and the ulcerated wound area will be able to heal after 24 hours.

6. Chloramphenicol eye drops are needed. Applying 1 to 2 drops of chloramphenicol eye drops can not only relieve pain and itching, but also has an anti-inflammatory effect. After being bitten by a flea, the eyelids have been scratched and are slightly infected and inflamed. Using this method to treat the area is very effective.

The harm of fleas cannot be ignored

1. Parasites

Female fleas live under the skin of animals. In humans, daphnia is caused by the parasitism of the skin-penetrating fleas. This disease is found in Central and South America and tropical Africa, and has no record in my country.

2. Red worm disease

Fleas are the intermediate hosts of Dipylidium caninum, Hymenolepithecus davidianus and Hymenolepithecus microplus. Human infection is mainly caused by accidentally ingesting fleas containing cysticercus. Recommended reading: Flea bites can cause serious illness How to prevent flea bites on children
