Can diarrhea help detoxification?

Can diarrhea help detoxification?

Everyone has a certain amount of toxic gas accumulated in their body, and too much toxic gas will damage the internal organs, so everyone should detoxify the body regularly. There are many ways to detoxify your body, such as steaming in a sauna, soaking in a hot spring, and running. Many people believe that diarrhea can make a person lose weight, because diarrhea will pull out everything in the stomach and intestines. But can diarrhea detoxify?

Diarrhea does not mean detoxification.

In fact, diarrhea cannot remove toxins from the intestines, and it cannot be used as a weight loss method. It only excretes water and electrolytes, not toxins and fat in the body. Therefore, relying on diarrhea will not only fail to detoxify, but will harm your body.

Then, some people say, "I only have a bowel movement once every three days. This is constipation. I need to promote bowel movements." In fact, the number of bowel movements we have in daily life varies from person to person. Frequent bowel movements do not necessarily mean detoxification.

Generally speaking, as long as the stool characteristics are normal (the stool is formed and has moderate water content), the frequency of bowel movements is regular, and there are no uncomfortable symptoms, it is normal to have a bowel movement once every 2 to 3 days to twice a day. This situation does not belong to diarrhea or constipation, and there is no need to intervene with some intestinal cleansing products.

We should know that the small intestine is an important base for absorbing nutrients from food, while the large intestine is responsible for absorbing excess water in the feces to form the stool. If the intestines move too fast, it can easily cause intestinal spasms and abdominal pain, and the small and large intestines will not be able to complete their duties. So when we have diarrhea, our stools are usually loose, and contain a lot of undigested food residues.

Appendix: Small methods to relieve diarrhea

1. Replenish electrolytes

Drink some rehydration salt containing sodium chloride, potassium chloride, glucose, sodium citrate, etc. to quickly replenish electrolytes in the body.

2. Rub your belly

After rubbing your hands together, when your hands become warm, immediately apply them to your stomach. This can warm the stomach and drive away the cold, helping gastrointestinal digestion.

3. Eat bananas

Bananas can be eaten raw to treat constipation, while cooked bananas can be eaten to treat diarrhea. Bananas can be steamed before being eaten.
