What happens if you use fake cosmetics?

In recent years, some fake cosmetics have been repeatedly exposed in the media. Even some regular platforms have been exposed to such scandals. Fake cosmetics can be said to be very profitable. Some unscrupulous manufacturers often use inferior products and some substances containing chemicals to make fake cosmetics, which is quite harmful to human skin and can easily cause dermatitis, acne, and even disfigurement.

What happens if you use fake cosmetics?

1. Cosmetic contact dermatitis: refers to skin inflammation that occurs at the contact site or its adjacent areas after contact with cosmetics. It mostly occurs on the face and neck, accounting for about 80% of cosmetic skin diseases.

2. Cosmetic acne: acne-like lesions occurring in areas that come into contact with cosmetics, including blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, etc.

3. Cosmetic hair damage: After using hair cosmetics, some hair may become dry, brittle, broken, split, deformed, discolored or fall off.

4. Cosmetic pigmentation abnormality: Contact with cosmetics causes local pigmentation abnormalities on the skin, including increased skin pigmentation and decreased pigmentation.

5. Cosmetic hormone-dependent dermatitis: It can make the skin white and smooth in a short period of time. Adding hormones to cosmetics will cause hormone-dependent dermatitis after long-term use.

How to identify fake cosmetics

The first step: Is the batch number complete?

Qualified cosmetics will have their cosmetics license number, health license number and production license number indicated on the product packaging or the instructions included. If you purchase special-purpose cosmetics, you should also have the special-purpose cosmetics batch number, which is the first factor in distinguishing the authenticity.

The second trick: Is it past the expiration date?

Cosmetics, like food, have a certain shelf life. All qualified products will be marked with the production date and shelf life, or expiration date. Of course, those products without a shelf life or safe use date must be carefully studied to see whether it is written on the outer packaging or whether it is a real counterfeit.

Tip 3: Is there a formal description of product ingredients and functions?

Inferior cosmetics often attract consumers with exaggerated functional propaganda, and often use some ambiguous so-called high-tech terms to decorate their facades, hoping to become a panacea that can cure all diseases. Brand-name, high-quality cosmetics will include more detailed instructions on ingredients, functions and usage in the product description, and will also list the range of use based on the skin types of different consumers. Although these contents are not national mandatory standards, they can be used as a reference standard to distinguish between good and bad.

The fourth step: Is there a manufacturer and place of origin?

Qualified cosmetics must indicate the name of the manufacturer and place of origin, unlike some counterfeit and inferior products that deceive consumers with simple foreign words such as "Made in America" or have no instructions at all.

The fifth step: Check whether there are Chinese labels and customs certificates for imported cosmetics

For original imported cosmetics, according to national regulations, they must have Chinese instructions, otherwise they will be considered unqualified products. Only the import mark from formal customs indicates that the product is sold through legal channels. Otherwise, the quality of parallel imported products cannot be guaranteed. If the quality is guaranteed but the entry procedures are illegal, there will not be much loss in use. However, if you buy counterfeit products labeled as "parallel imports", you will suffer a big loss. I believe that your charming face cannot withstand such a setback.
