This situation is more common among workers who work with coal tar or tar asphalt for a long time. Photoallergic dermatitis is relatively rare among occupational skin diseases.

The rash is often eczematous, often accompanied by papulovesicular or urticarial rashes, and there is a subjective feeling of severe itching. Skin lesions initially occur on exposed areas with unclear edges and often spread rapidly to the surrounding areas, affecting covered areas and even the skin of the entire body. If contact with photosensitive substances is not stopped and exposure to light continues, the disease may recur and not heal for a long time. This disease is generally not accompanied by systemic symptoms, and the prognosis generally does not leave pigmentation.
