The surface of Ligustrum lucidum is dark brown or purple-black with white powdery frost. It has a slight smell of alcohol and tastes sweet and slightly bitter.

Quality Standards

The impurity content of Ligustrum lucidum fruit shall not exceed 3.0%, the moisture content shall not exceed 8.0%, the alcohol extract shall not be less than 25.0%, and the content of privet glycoside shall not be less than 0.70%.
