Symptoms of mild autism in children

Children are a high-risk group for autism. When a child develops autism, it usually takes until the child is over three years old to be diagnosed. Children with autism will show a variety of symptoms, such as certain barriers to communicating with others, restricted emotional communication, and the children often live in their own space and have their own fixed life patterns. In addition, they will have language barriers, abnormal behaviors, etc.

Symptoms of mild autism in children

1. Limited emotional communication with people around you

Children with autism may not be able to distinguish between relatives and strangers to varying degrees. When interacting with others, for unknown reasons they always avoid looking at the other person's face and avoid looking at others when communicating with them. He doesn't like to interact with others, likes to be alone, and feels comfortable when playing alone. He lacks the necessary sympathy and shows symptoms of lack of emotion.

2. Maintain a fixed lifestyle

Once a child develops autism, he or she often has very rigid and strict requirements for the living environment. The movement of furniture and even changes in diet and daily life will cause emotional changes in children with autism. For example, once they find that the environment has changed, they are more likely to get angry or panic. Some children are so serious that they cannot even change the seat where they sit when eating, where they put their bowls and chopsticks, or even which toilet they use when going to the toilet. In other words, the children have very strict requirements for the environment and cannot allow any changes. Once changes occur, very serious symptoms of maladaptation will often appear.

3. Speech disorders

All children with autism experience language impairment, but the manifestations vary. Some children with autism will talk a lot, but their comprehension ability is very low and they often use inappropriate words. They may even have incorrect pronunciation, or even talk to themselves and use very strange accents; some may be able to say some relatively simple words when they are about one year old, but as they get older, they become less and less talkative, refuse to communicate with others, or even become completely silent and say nothing.

4. Restlessness and hyperactivity

Children with autism often cannot sit still, are overactive, frequently walk on tiptoe, have a scattered attention span, and habitually look around, stretch their necks, or perform other strange behaviors such as pretending to be handsome.
