What is closed comedones?

Closed comedones are a relatively common type of acne. They are also called dark particles. Although they do not hurt or itch when they grow on the face, they will stay on the face for a long time. If they are not well cared for and treated, they will often grow for a long time, seriously affecting the appearance. Moreover, this type of closed comedones is sometimes quite stubborn, so it is necessary to get rid of closed comedones through good care and treatment.

What is closed comedones?

Closed comedones are different from pimples on the face. They usually appear in patches. If you squeeze them with your hands, you can see white thread-like secretions. You can see obvious roughness and unevenness under light or sunlight. The causes of closed comedones in different locations are different. Let’s take a look at the causes! 1. If your closed comedones are concentrated at your hairline and you usually wear makeup, then 90% of the time it is caused by not removing makeup properly. 2. If your closed comedones are concentrated in the T-zone and chin, which are frequently oily, it is very likely caused by a thick stratum corneum and excessive oil secretion. 3. If your closed comedones are all over your face, including your cheeks which don’t produce oil very much, then you should consider whether it is due to your diet, your mood, or because you don’t pay attention to hydration.

To get rid of acne you must follow these steps:

Exfoliate regularly

Excessively thick stratum corneum that clogs pores is an important cause of acne. Choose the right exfoliating product and clean your facial skin thoroughly regularly to keep your skin healthy. Oily skin should exfoliate once a week, combination and neutral skin should exfoliate once every 3 weeks, dry skin should exfoliate once every 4 weeks, and sensitive skin should exfoliate once every 4 weeks if the skin is in good condition. The exfoliating product used each time must have small particles to avoid causing damage to the skin. Stop exfoliating if the skin is in a sensitive period.

Regular deep cleaning

It is best to choose a mud-like deep cleansing mask, which can absorb dirt from the pores. Deep-sea mineral mud and natural clay have very good effects in cleansing dirt and pores, allowing the dirty and black acne to be slowly cleaned, and the skin surface will become smoother and less rough. In addition, every time after using a cleansing mask, you should apply a toner with astringent effects on your face to prevent the pores from becoming enlarged.

Hydrating

Imbalance of skin water and oil is also a cause of acne. After cleansing your skin with facial cleanser every day, apply toner and lotion, and use a moisturizing mask two to three times a week to regulate the water and oil balance of the skin and create healthy skin.

Completely remove makeup

If the makeup residue is not removed thoroughly, it can easily clog the pores on the face and cause closed comedones. Be sure to choose the right makeup remover every night to thoroughly clean your face. After using makeup remover, you need to use facial cleanser to clean your face.

Correct way to squeeze pimples

If you squeeze pimples yourself, be sure to use the correct method. After cleaning the skin, use two clean cotton swabs to press hard on both sides of the acne until the linear secretions in the acne are removed. After each squeezing, you need to use a new cotton swab to clean the wound, and then apply a mild, soothing toner to the wound (soak the cotton pad with toner) for about 5 minutes. Although the cotton swab will not cause hard injuries to the skin, there will still be signs of redness and swelling, which will generally recover after half an hour.
