What does it look like when a child has foreskin that is too long?

Phimosis means that the foreskin has completely covered the urethral opening. It is impossible to diagnose whether a baby under three years old has foreskin that is too long. If a child has foreskin that is too long, it must be treated in time. Because children cannot clean themselves and their parents' neglect in this regard, it is easy to cause infection and it will also affect the child's development.

1. It can easily cause various inflammations . There are abundant sebaceous glands in the foreskin, which can secrete a large amount of sebum. When phimosis or foreskin is too long, the secretions of the sebaceous glands in the foreskin cannot be discharged, and the sebum and sediment in the urine combine to form the cheese-like and smelly "smegma". Smegma is suitable for bacterial growth, so it can cause inflammation of the glans penis and foreskin. Bacteria can also cause urinary tract infection through the urethra. Inflammation occurring at the urethral opening may cause narrowing of the urethral opening after healing, resulting in difficulty in urination.

2. It will affect the growth and development of the penis. During the child's development period, the glans penis is tightly covered by the foreskin and cannot receive the necessary external stimulation. The development of the glans penis is greatly restricted, resulting in the circumference of the glans penis crown being significantly smaller after the sexual organ matures, causing the child to develop depression, inferiority complex and other negative psychological diseases.

3. It may easily lead to various other complications. The foreskin of a child is too long, which often completely covers the urethral opening, resulting in incomplete urination. A small amount of urine often remains in the foreskin cavity. In addition, young children wear open-crotch pants, and the foreskin and urethral opening are often contaminated by the outside world. The foreskin and urethral opening are prone to inflammation and adhesion, which aggravates the difficulty in urination. Such children have great difficulty in urinating, their foreskin cavity swells, and they often suffer from foreskin cavity stones, urinary tract infections and other serious complications.
