Goose bumps on chest

Goose bumps on chest

Some people in life will find some small bumps on their chest, just like goose bumps, and the pores are blocked and the sweat hair does not grow. In fact, this is most likely perifollicular keratosis pilaris, commonly known as goose bumps. Many people have goose bumps, and they are more obvious during adolescence and will gradually decrease with age. So what are the symptoms of goose bumps and how to relieve them?

1. Follicular keratosis (chicken skin)

"Chicken skin" is a common skin symptom. About 80% of people have this confusion. This skin symptom is hereditary (common in patients with ichthyosis) and is prone to occur in people with allergic or atopic constitutions, or those who are malnourished.

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) is mainly caused by liver qi stagnation, liver wood overcoming earth, and weak spleen and stomach. As we all know, the spleen and stomach are the foundation of acquired constitution. Weak spleen and stomach will inevitably lead to malnutrition of the skin, eventually causing chicken skin disease. The treatment often uses external Maozhou Soothing Cream for repair. It contains herbal ingredients and is non-irritating. In addition, avoid eating spicy and irritating foods. In order to have a good mood every day, you also need to have good living habits and get rid of bad habits such as smoking, drinking, and staying up late. 2. Symptoms Chicken skin is a very common skin problem. It is a dominant genetic disorder of keratinization metabolism. There is a 50% chance that it will be passed on to the next generation. The symptoms usually become obvious from adolescence, and become less and less obvious by the age of 30 or 40. Generally speaking, there will be no sequelae.

Its incidence rate is as high as 40% to 50%. It mainly occurs on the outer side of the upper arm and the extensor side of the thigh. In severe cases, it may even occur on the outer side of the elbow and the extensor side of the calf. It looks like there is keratin accumulation at the opening of the hair follicles. In severe cases, there may be redness or swelling around the area, which may make people mistakenly think that they have many blackheads and inflamed pimples on their arms or thighs. However, if you squeeze it forcefully, it will cause red spots.

If the pores are red and even feel raised to the touch, this is keratosis pilaris. In more serious cases, the pores will be darker in color, appearing dark red or brown, and the particles will be rougher, looking like goose bumps. The most common areas where it appears are the outer side of the upper arms, thighs, and neck. Some people even have symptoms of follicular keratosis on their entire back and cheeks.

The symptoms will be more severe in winter because it is related to keratinization of hair follicles and thickening of cuticles. Therefore, when the climate is drier and colder, the thickening of cuticles will be aggravated, making the symptoms more obvious. 3. Improvement methods: In autumn and winter, the skin's keratin thickens, and "chicken skin" becomes more serious. Some people even show symptoms of "ichthyosis" - this sounds scary, but in fact it is just caused by extreme dryness, which makes the skin appear uneven in color like pieces of fish scales. Many people have this symptom without knowing it. In addition, "chicken skin" is also related to vitamin A deficiency, and you can take vitamin AD pills appropriately.
