What causes blood fainting?

What causes blood fainting? Halo disorder is actually a phobia, and it is also a generalized anxiety disorder. That is, most people will see it after the Snow Moon and feel dizzy. This condition can be treated with psychotherapy and medical treatments, such as systematic desensitization. Therapy and cognitive therapy can also be used to treat paroxetine and buspirone. If the condition is serious, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and treatment.

① Cause

Fainting at the sight of blood is usually caused by an overactive vasovagal nerve response, which is an evolved fear reflex. This response slows your heart rate, lowers your blood pressure, and causes blood to flow to your legs. This means that not enough oxygenated blood is reaching your brain, causing you to feel lightheaded or even pass out. When people with phobias face the object of their fear, they do not simply experience an increase in heart rate and blood pressure, because these people initially experience an increase in heart rate and blood pressure followed by a dramatic drop, often accompanied by vomiting, dizziness, and fainting. Indeed, 75% of people with hemophobia have a history of fainting in these situations.

Hemophobia is a type of hysteria, which is an extreme reaction of the consciousness and body caused by contact with, seeing or smelling blood. There are conscious reactions such as panic, palpitations, dizziness, etc., and physiological and physical manifestations include increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, nausea, limb weakness, etc. Fainting at the sight of blood actually originates from conscious activities in the cerebral cortex. The brain sends out commands, prompting the secretion of related hormones, resulting in physiological and physical reactions.

In terms of hysteria, women are stronger than men, and children are stronger than adults. So they are more susceptible to psychological suggestion. Psychologically, children will carry the hysteria caused by their childhood fear experiences into adulthood, forming a subconscious mind. So when they encounter blood, they will create a horror atmosphere and become blood-fainting. In severe cases, even with eyes closed, the patient will still have hysterical thoughts and feel dizzy when seeing blood. People who faint at the sight of blood or have severe dizziness from blood may experience some inconvenience in their daily lives.

There is a strong family factor in the phobia of blood phobia, with two-thirds of patients' immediate family members also suffering from the same phobia. Whether this factor reflects genetic factors affecting family members sharing common environmental experiences is unclear. However, a specific purpose that may have developed from this unique physiological response pattern is to inhibit future attacks or provide warnings through the mechanism of blood phobia and fainting. It has little to do with genetic factors.
