What medicine should men use for yeast infection

For men, fungal infections are also relatively common. Men's private parts are most susceptible to fungal infections, which often lead to balanitis. First of all, they should be cleaned in time. For example, potassium permanganate solution can be used for cleaning to achieve a good anti-inflammatory effect. If the effect is not good, you can take itraconazole orally. In addition, external medications should be used to maintain treatment. Of course, you must follow the doctor's advice on medication.

Wash the foreskin with clean water every day. Do not use strong soapy water or potassium permanganate solution.

If you have a fungal infection on your feet, such as athlete's foot, do not scratch your feet and then your genitals without washing your hands. Actively treat fungal infections of the feet, and be careful not to wash underwear with socks.

Patients whose symptoms do not disappear after long-term treatment should be checked for concurrent Trichomonas infection. If Trichomonas infection occurs simultaneously, anti-trichomoniasis drugs should be given.

Topical non-irritating antifungal agents, etc., if the effect is poor, you can take itraconazole 200 mg orally once a week for 2 consecutive doses, and then use topical antifungal drugs to maintain the therapeutic effect.

1. Acute superficial balanitis

Symptoms: At the beginning, there is local flushing, redness and swelling of the penis skin, and a burning and itching sensation in the glans. When the foreskin is turned back, one can see that the inner surface of the foreskin and the glans are congested and eroded, with exudate and even bleeding. After secondary infection, small ulcers may be seen with foul-smelling milky white purulent secretions. There may be swelling and tenderness of the inguinal lymph nodes.

Oral administration: Erythromycin and tetracycline are the first choice, generally 0.5g per dose, 4 times a day.

For external use: glucocorticoid creams and ointments. You can also use 3% boric acid water or 0.1% revano solution for wet compresses, which are suitable for those with obvious erosion and exudation.

2. Trichomonas balanitis

Symptoms: Papules and erythema appear on the glans penis, gradually expanding with clear edges. Small needle-sized blisters can be seen on the erythema, and finally an erosive surface is formed.

Oral administration: Metronidazole is the first choice for the treatment of trichomoniasis balanitis, take 0.2g each time, 3 times a day, for 10 consecutive days.

For external use: For trichomoniasis, use 0.5% to 1% lactic acid solution, 0.5% acetic acid solution or 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution to rinse the glans and the inner side of the foreskin.

3. Annular ulcerated balanitis

Symptoms: Erythema can be seen on the glans penis and foreskin, which gradually expands and becomes ring-shaped, and may form superficial ulcers.

Oral administration: Erythromycin and tetracycline are the first choice, generally 0.5g per dose, 4 times a day.

For external use: glucocorticoid creams and ointments.

4. Candida albicans balanitis

Symptoms: Erythema can be seen on the foreskin and glans penis. The surface is smooth and there are small blisters. The edges of the erythema are clear. In acute attacks, there are erosions and exudation.

Oral administration: trichostatin or itraconazole is commonly used for treatment. Trichostatin 100,000 to 200,000 units, twice a day, and itraconazole 100 mg, twice a day, for 7 consecutive days.

For external use: For candidal balanitis, you can use baking soda solution to clean the affected area or apply imidazole ointments such as Daktarin ointment, clotrimazole ointment, etc. You can also use Compound Conale Cream and Picon Cream for external use.
