You cannot take a shower right after having your blood drawn. We know that blood drawing is a common method of examination, and the blood drawn is venous blood. Although the skin damage is not particularly severe, if you take a shower too early, it may cause pain, infection, etc. Do not eat spicy food after the blood test. You can take a shower after 1 to 2 days. Preliminary preparation When it comes to laboratory tests, patients will think of blood drawing and pain, and will feel nervous to varying degrees. Children may even cry and make a fuss. Having your blood drawn will hurt, but it will be mild. Tension and even fear are mainly psychological effects. To ensure the stability and accuracy of the test results, patients should actively cooperate and stay relaxed. I often hear patients ask: "How much nutrition is needed to replenish so much blood that was drawn?" In fact, there is no need to worry or be nervous, because this blood only accounts for 5%-3% of the total blood volume in the human body. It does not require any supplementation or special nutrition, and the human body can adjust and adapt automatically. After drawing blood, the doctor or nurse will divide the blood into different test tubes to suit different experimental requirements. Fasting blood draw Fasting blood drawing has become a basic requirement for many laboratory tests, mainly for the following reasons: (1) The normal reference values of many blood test items are derived from the results of fasting blood drawing in the normal population, obtained after statistical analysis; (2) Many chemical components in the blood can change after eating, so accurate test values cannot be obtained. For example, eating high-fat foods can significantly increase triglycerides by several times; eating high-sugar foods can rapidly increase blood sugar within two hours. From the time you eat the night before to the morning of the next day, when you have been fasting for more than ten hours, all substances in your body have reached relative stability and balance. Food factors have basically no effect on blood composition, so drawing blood at this time can get relatively stable and accurate results. (3) Due to changes in the human biological cycle, some indicators vary greatly due to different blood collection times. For example, the peak of cortisol secretion is in the morning and gradually decreases from afternoon to evening. Therefore, only the results measured at the same time are comparable. (4) People exercise less in the morning, and are affected by many factors such as eating, labor, exercise, and work, which may cause some laboratory indicators to fluctuate, hindering the accuracy of the test results and not being conducive to comparison with previous results. |
