Why do I have dysmenorrhea?

Most of the dysmenorrhea is caused by uterine cold. During menstruation, you must keep your abdomen warm, avoid eating raw or cold food, drink cold water, eat spicy food, exercise more often, and pay special attention during menstruation. Winter diseases can be treated in summer. In summer, you can use moxa sticks to rub the body to drive away the cold. Regular hot baths can also drive away the cold and keep warm.

1. Why do menstrual cramps cause severe pain?

"Poor blood circulation" can cause dysmenorrhea, which is one of the symptoms of "uterine cold". Dysmenorrhea can be caused by obstruction of menstrual outflow, uterine ischemia and hypoxia, and abnormal uterine contraction. The causes of dysmenorrhea can be discussed from two aspects: one is internal factors, such as lifestyle and genetics; the other is irresistible external factors, such as weather, work, etc.

For young women, if they suffer from dysmenorrhea, it is recommended to treat it early to reduce the adverse effects on the health of the next generation. In terms of life, women are advised not to often eat cold, spicy foods, such as ice cream, chili peppers, bitter gourd, etc. Of course, if it is related to the weather, such as wind, cold, dampness and cold, it may also cause dysmenorrhea. In addition, sitting for long periods of time, strenuous exercise, high tension, and excessive stress may all cause dysmenorrhea.

Generally speaking, dysmenorrhea that is extremely painful is a more serious type of dysmenorrhea and women should take it seriously.

In traditional Chinese medicine, dysmenorrhea is divided into several types for diagnosis: First, qi and blood stagnation, manifested as lower abdominal distension and pain, no pain relief after pressing, or distension and pain in the breasts and flanks; second, it is mainly cold and dampness, accompanied by cold limbs, which is relieved by keeping warm, and the menstrual flow is relatively small and purple in color, with blood clots; third, liver depression and damp heat, with a burning feeling in the abdomen, heavy, thick, bright or purple menstrual flow, accompanied by distension and pain in the breasts and flanks; fourth, blood deficiency, accompanied by small and thin menstrual flow, cold limbs and fatigue, dizziness and feeling of breathlessness; fifth, liver and kidney damage, accompanied by small menstrual flow, red color without clots, dizziness and tinnitus.

How to quickly relieve dysmenorrhea

Everyone's condition is different, so in the process of treating dysmenorrhea, it is necessary to find out the cause clearly in order to better treat it.

Tip 1: Take small steps and walk fast

After excluding the possibility of dysmenorrhea caused by disease, experts indicate that if you can perform appropriate aerobic exercise on a regular basis, it can effectively help relieve dysmenorrhea. For women with a history of dysmenorrhea, they can appropriately insist on brisk walking in small steps every day. The time should not be too long, generally 30-40 minutes is enough.

Tip 2: Use a hot water bottle

Every time when dysmenorrhea attacks are more severe, for severe but bearable lower abdominal pain, female patients can apply a hot water bottle at home. Warmth can help relieve pain.

Tip 3: Soak your feet in mugwort

Expert research has shown that soaking your feet in mugwort leaves is relatively safe and gentle. Generally, you can start soaking your feet a week before your period, and insist on soaking for half an hour every day until you sweat. Gradually, the symptoms will be relieved.
