Can I get Hepatitis B by kissing the breasts of a woman with Hepatitis B?

Hepatitis B is a disease that is contagious to a certain extent and is also a disease that poses a great threat to human health. In current clinical medicine, it is difficult to completely cure this disease. Many people are afraid that they will be infected with hepatitis B after kissing the breasts of female hepatitis B patients. In fact, the above behavior will not lead to hepatitis B transmission. Because hepatitis B is transmitted in the following ways.

1. Close contact or transmission in daily life

Long-term close contact with patients with hepatitis, such as saliva, urine, blood, bile, breast milk, and other supplies can be contaminated and transmitted through broken skin and mucous membranes, becoming a hidden route for the transmission of hepatitis B virus. However, the virus content in contaminated objects is usually very low and does not cause disease. It is usually eliminated quickly, so this type of transmission is relatively rare.

2. Nosocomial transmission

It can be transmitted through tooth fillings, beauty treatments, pedicures, foot washing and massage, especially medical equipment such as needles, oral devices, endoscopes, etc., which are contaminated with hepatitis B virus and incomplete disinfection or improper handling can cause transmission; using one syringe to give injections to several people is also one of the iatrogenic hepatitis B transmission routes; blood is also a route of hepatitis B transmission. Medical-induced transmission is mainly caused by the reuse of syringes without sterilization, and the lack of strict sterilization of tooth extraction instruments and other traumatic medical devices.

3. Sexual transmission

For example, promiscuous sex, homosexual intercourse, or intimate sexual behavior between heterosexuals are the main transmission routes of hepatitis B virus. This transmission also includes transmission between couples in the family. The transmission rate of unprotected sexual behavior between couples is about 14%, and the details vary from person to person. Because the hepatitis B virus can be detected in the saliva of hepatitis B patients, infection may occur during kissing due to damage to the skin and mucous membranes. Therefore, if there are damages in the mouth (such as ulcers, bites, bleeding gums, etc.), you should avoid kissing hepatitis B virus carriers.

4. Mother-to-child transmission

It is achieved through two methods: transmission through the placenta and transmission through the birth canal. When preventing it, the focus should be on premarital examinations and treatment of hepatitis B patients in pregnant women, while fully implementing hepatitis B vaccination for newborns. It is transmitted to the next generation through germ cells. Male hepatitis B patients are more likely to pass it on to the next generation. The chance of transmission through close contact is lower, with a transmission rate of only 12%. Hepatitis B will not be transmitted through regular contact.

5. Blood transmission

Such as transfusing infected blood, plasma, serum, etc., or other blood-borne injection methods of transmission. Moreover, blood-borne transmission is currently the primary transmission route of hepatitis B. Therefore, the first step to prevent hepatitis B is to strictly examine blood donors. Try not to use blood and blood products, especially imported blood products.
