Burn wound pain one week

Burn wound pain one week

People cannot predict when and what kind of harm they will encounter. For example, when cooking, you may often encounter the problem of burns. Scalds from boiling water are the most serious. Because when the temperature is too high, when the skin comes into contact with it, it will feel severe pain, and the wound will not heal easily. When you get burned, you must avoid infection because once the wound is infected, it will take a long time to recover. So why does the wound hurt a week after a burn?

What are the symptoms of burn wound infection?

(1) Different bacterial infections can produce different changes. Staphylococcus aureus infection causes light yellow sticky secretions; hemolytic streptococcal infection causes light brown thin secretions; Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection causes green or blue-green sticky secretions with a sweet and fishy odor; anaerobic bacteria infection causes a fecal odor.

(2) Dark gray or black necrotic spots appear on the wound surface, such as those often seen on wounds infected with Gram-negative bacteria.

(3) Bacteria invade deep blood vessels, causing ischemia and necrosis, which deepens the wound and delays wound healing.

(4) If the eschar dehumidifies and falls off prematurely or changes similar to insect bites appear, it indicates that a local infection has occurred.

(5) Gray and white spots appearing on the scab or eschar surface often indicate fungal infection. The spots quickly develop toward the wound surface and merge into flake-like villous substances. The surface color gradually becomes grayish white, light green, light yellow or brown, and after a few days a thin layer of powdery substance appears on the wound.

(6) Pus or abscess appears under the scab. For example, in case of Staphylococcus aureus infection, abscess may occur under the scab. If there is green pus with a sweet and fishy smell under the scab, it is mostly caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection.

(7) Infections with Staphylococcus aureus or fungi can cause necrosis of granulation tissue, while infection with Vibrio parahaemolyticus can cause necrotic spots to reappear on the granulation wound surface.

(8) Redness, swelling, bleeding spots or necrotic spots appear around the wound. There is often an obvious inflammatory reaction at the edges of wounds infected by hemolytic streptococci.
