3. When exercising, do not stretch your legs or bend your waist too much, otherwise it will not only fail to achieve the desired purpose, but also cause a herniated disc.

4. Do not bend over when lifting heavy objects. You should squat down to pick up the heavy object, then stand up slowly, trying not to bend over.

From a biomechanical point of view, the L4-L5 and L5-S1 intervertebral discs are subject to the greatest pressure and have the greatest range of motion, while the posterior longitudinal ligament located in these two segments is relatively narrow (only 1/2 of the width of the upper part). Therefore, the L4-L5 and L5-S1 intervertebral discs are the most vulnerable parts, and clinically, L4-L5 and L5-S1 intervertebral disc herniation are the most common.

5. Eat a balanced diet with high protein and vitamin content and low fat and cholesterol, prevent obesity, quit smoking and control alcohol consumption.

6. Pay attention to the combination of work and rest at work, maintain correct posture, avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time, and do warm-up exercises before strenuous physical activity.

7. When resting in bed, it is advisable to choose a hard bed to maintain the physiological curvature of the spine.

8. Avoid the cold and keep warm.
