1. To relax the muscles and unblock the meridians, the patient lies in a prone position, and the operator uses pushing, pressing, kneading and other techniques to apply the treatment to the bladder meridian on both sides of the patient's lumbar spine, as well as the posterior and lateral sides of the buttocks and lower limbs for 3-5 minutes, focusing on the waist. The doctor then overlaps his palms and presses the lumbar sacral area from top to bottom along the spine. This method is intended to improve blood circulation, relieve back and waist muscle spasms, and promote the absorption of inflammation. It takes about 5 minutes.

2. Antispasmodic and analgesic treatment: The patient lies in prone position, and the operator first uses the tip of the thumb or the tip of the elbow to tap, press, and rub the Yaoyangguan, Dachangshu, Huantiao, Juliao, Chengfu, Yinmen, Weizhong, Chengshan, Yanglingquan, Juegu, Qiuxu, and Ashi points for 5-8 minutes. To relieve spasms and relieve pain.

3. Loosen adhesions and continue with manual traction or mechanical pelvic traction in the supine position to open the intervertebral space (if mechanical pelvic traction is used, it should be arranged as the first step), and then perform lumbar lateral traction to correct scoliosis and loosen adhesions between the protrusion and the nerve roots. According to the corresponding segment of the herniated disc, the operator uses the overlapping fingertips of both hands or the tips of the elbows to push and press, with the force in the direction of 45 degrees to the spine, for about 5-8 minutes. It can eliminate the stimulation of the protruding nucleus pulposus to the surrounding tissues and nerve roots, reduce nerve root edema, and play a role in reducing swelling and relieving pain.

4. Decompression and analgesia: On the basis of the above method, perform the double lower limb extension method to extend the waist; then, the patient lies on his back and performs the hip flexion, knee flexion, buttocks hugging and leg stretching method, and the forced straight leg raising method. The operation can be performed inward or outward as needed. To increase extradiscal pressure, reduce pressure on the protrusion and the spinal cord and nerve roots, improve the relationship between them, and relieve symptoms.

5. After joint reduction, depending on the location and degree of the protrusion, the sitting-bending rotational lever method and the side-lying oblique lever method can be used respectively to adjust the posterior joint disorder, loosen adhesions, change the position of the protrusion and the nerve root, increase the pressure on the periphery of the intervertebral disc, relieve pain, and gradually restore its function.

6. Muscle-regulating method: The patient lies in prone position, and the operator uses tapping, pressing, kneading, and plucking techniques along the waist and the sciatic nerve distribution area on the affected side for about 2-3 minutes. To improve the blood circulation of local tissues, promote the absorption of inflammation caused by injury, and gradually restore the function of atrophied muscles and paralyzed nerve tissues.
