Is acupuncture effective in removing dampness?

In traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is a relatively important treatment method, and it is also a treatment method with few side effects on the human body and relatively gentle treatment. There are many methods of acupuncture, and moxibustion is one of them. Moxibustion, a method of acupuncture therapy, can effectively remove moisture. So, which acupoints can be effectively removed by moxibustion? The following article will give you a detailed understanding!

1. Hegu Point

Acupoint location: On the back of the hand, between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones, at the midpoint of the radial side of the second metacarpal bone. The first horizontal line of the thumb joint of one hand is facing the base of the other hand. Bend the thumb and press down, where the fingertip points.

Method: The distance between moxibustion point and acupoint should be 3-5 cm. Moxibustion should be applied until the acupoint becomes warm and slightly red. One course of treatment is 10 times. Moxibustion for 10-15 minutes each time.

Principle: Hegu point is the master switch of the large intestine meridian. The name Hegu means that qi and blood of the large intestine meridian gather here and form a strong water, dampness and wind field. It can raise the clear and lower the turbid, dispel wind and relieve the exterior, and promote the circulation of qi and blood.

2. Zusanli acupoint

Point location: 3 inches below the outer knee and about one horizontal finger on the outer side of the tibia.

Method: Select the acupoints and apply moxibustion for 10-15 minutes until the acupoints are warm and slightly red. You need to persist for a period of time and you will soon see the effect of removing dampness.

Principle: Zusanli is a major acupoint that strengthens the body and mind. It has the functions of dispelling wind and dampness, regulating the body's immunity, and regulating the spleen and stomach.

3. Quchi Point

Point location: When the elbow is fully flexed, it is located at the outer end of the elbow transverse line.

Method: Press and rub the point with the tip of your thumb for 2-5 minutes, or you can use four fingers together to tap the point until the local skin turns slightly red.

Principle: Quchi point is where the damp and turbid air of the large intestine meridian gathers. This point is the He point of the Large Intestine Meridian of Hand Yangming. It can clear away dampness and heat, regulate qi and blood in the large intestine, and is very effective for urticaria and acute gastroenteritis caused by "dampness and heat".

3. Jiexi Point

Acupoint location: In the central depression of the transverse line at the junction of the dorsum of the foot and the calf, between the tendons of the extensor hallucis longus and the extensor digitorum longus.

Method: Moxibustion on the Jiexi acupoint for 15 minutes every day and persist for a period of time to effectively remove dampness.

Principle: This acupoint is used to eliminate phlegm and dampness throughout the body, and it is very effective in relieving edema of the lower limbs.
