Migratory pain in the bones of the limbs

Migratory pain in the bones of the limbs

I believe that most people have experienced bone pain, but many people's bone pain is fixed-point pain, that is, their bone pain occurs at one point, but some people's bone pain is migratory pain. It is particularly common to have heartache in the bones of the limbs, which mainly refers to the pain that is not caused by one point. So what causes migratory pain in the bones of the limbs?

What is migratory pain

Migratory pain usually occurs in rheumatoid arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Doctors call this type of pain that rotates throughout the body migratory pain.

Causes of migratory pain

Migratory pain mostly occurs in the joints. The main causes of migratory pain are as follows.

1. Neuralgia caused by diabetes

The characteristics of burning neuralgia are:

(1) Spontaneous, intractable pain that is difficult to relieve without proper treatment;

(2) It can occur in any part of the body, but is more common in the lower limbs and intercostal neuropathy;

(3) The pain is burning, diffuse and persistent, or worsens in paroxysmal bursts. In severe cases, painful cramps may occur.

(4) The pain is relatively superficial, and there are no abnormal changes in bones, muscles, or joints;

(5) Attacks may be accompanied by vascular-autonomic nervous system symptoms, including postural hypotension, angioedema, sweat gland secretion disorders, etc.

The pathogenesis may be related to high blood sugar causing neurotrophic and metabolic disorders, coupled with a lack of certain vitamins (such as B1, B2, B6, etc.). In particular, elderly patients often have vascular lesions, which makes local ischemic changes prone to occur. Such multiple factors ultimately contribute to the occurrence of burning neuralgia.

2. Degenerative changes in joints

Degeneration refers to the abnormal changes that occur in the cells, tissues, and organs of the human body as we age. The common term is "aging".

3. Chronic joint strain

Due to the relatively large amount of activity in the joints, the muscles and other soft tissues around the joints become strained, causing pain.

4. Osteoarthritis caused by rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.

Osteoarthritis often affects large weight-bearing joints such as the knees, hips, cervical vertebrae, lumbar vertebrae, and interphalangeal joints of the hands.

Causes of this condition include aging, obesity, trauma, or the need to frequently lift heavy objects.

Clinical symptoms include joint pain, stiffness, and occasional swelling, initially with difficulty walking up and down stairs and being unable to squat.

Gradually, their mobility declines, and they are unable to walk long distances or go up and down stairs. Their joints become deformed (such as O-shaped or X-shaped knee joints). In severe cases, they need to use crutches or a wheelchair to walk.

5. Polymyalgia rheumatica

A clinical syndrome characterized by pain in the proximal extremities and trunk.

Generally includes the following points:

Onset of illness at age 50 or above;

Pain and morning stiffness occur in two of the three vulnerable parts of the shoulder girdle, pelvic girdle and neck, lasting for more than 30 minutes and lasting for more than one month;

Evidence of systemic reaction such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate increased by more than 40mm/h or 50mm/h.

6. Osteoporosis

The decline of ovarian function and the decrease of estrogen secretion lead to a large loss of calcium, causing osteoporosis.

After women reach the age of 40, as the secretion of estrogen decreases, the intestinal absorption of calcium will be inhibited and the activity of osteoblasts will also weaken. At this time, a large amount of bone mass will be lost, and most people will experience varying degrees of muscle aches throughout the body, especially back and waist muscle pain, intercostal pain, hip joint pain, etc.

7. Pain caused by tumors

The appearance of local tumors in the joints is also one of the important factors causing joint pain, which is more common in children and the elderly during their growth and development period.

If joint swelling and pain occur, the pain is more severe at night than during the day, painkillers are ineffective, and there is no reasonable explanation, you should go to the hospital for further examination to rule out joint tumors.

Summary: Migratory pain does not rule out the possibility of cancer, but most of the time it is caused by other reasons. You don’t need to worry too much. If you feel any discomfort, go to the hospital for examination and exclusion in time. Finally, I hope everyone has a healthy body.
