Complications of male vasectomy

Complications of male vasectomy

Among contraceptive methods, most people choose male condoms, which are also effective and have no side effects on both parties. In addition, placing an IUD is also a common method for women, but it is not suitable for some women. Another way to avoid this is to have male sterilization, which is also very effective. However, the sequelae of male sterilization are also an important problem. Some men believe that sterilization will affect their sex life, thereby increasing their mental stress.

The impact of vasectomy on men mainly includes the following two aspects:

1. The effect of local pain of male vasectomy on sexual physiological reflexes

Sexual function is a complex physiological process, which requires not only the coordinated function of a sound nervous system, endocrine system and reproductive system, but also the tacit cooperation of both husband and wife. After vasectomy, pituitary function and testosterone production will not be affected in the short or long term. The presence of semen agglutinating antibodies in the body does not harm your health.

Epididymal stasis, accessory gland inflammation, painful nodules in the vas deferens or surgical trauma all present with local pain, which inhibits the penile erection center through reflex. At the same time, pain may be accompanied by noxious sensations such as discomfort, uneasiness, and terror, which deepen the inhibition and lead to erectile dysfunction. In addition, if the local pain is not obvious enough, but during the climax of sexual life, the local muscles contract strongly and pain will occur, which is the so-called ejaculation pain.

2. Psychological impact of male sterilization

There are many reasons why sterilization may cause sexual psychological disorders. The most common ones are that sterilization is mistaken for castration, it is not completely voluntary due to certain factors, the spouse's consent is not fully obtained, and the spouse's care and attention is not received after the operation. Some people are relieved of the fear of pregnancy after having a sterilization operation, and they indulge in excessive sexual activity, which leads to sexual dysfunction after a period of time. Some people have neurosis and are not suitable for vasectomy, as sexual problems are more common after the operation. A very small number of couples who have undergone sterilization no longer have the risk of pregnancy and instead feel that their sex life has lost its "excitement"
