Long-term oral ulcers are difficult to heal

Oral ulcers that occur all year round and are difficult to heal are called recurrent oral ulcers. This is a health problem that many people have. If this disease is not cured in time, it will have a great impact on a person's normal eating and physical condition. So, how to treat recurrent oral ulcers? Here is some information about recurrent oral ulcers.

1. Introduction to Recurrent Oral Ulcers

Recurrent oral ulcers are common ulcerative lesions of the oral mucosa. The pain is severe and the burning pain is unbearable during an attack. According to traditional Chinese medicine, this disease is caused by emotional frustration, physical weakness, and the six external evils that lead to liver dysfunction, spleen dysfunction, liver depression and qi stagnation, accumulated heat turning into fire, and virtual fire rising up and steaming the mouth, causing the disease.

Recurrent oral ulcers are a type of localized ulcer lesion of the oral mucosa characterized by periodic recurrence. They can heal on their own and can occur in any part of the oral mucosa. The main symptoms are single or multiple round or oval ulcers of varying sizes occurring on the mucous membranes of the lips, cheeks, soft palate or gums of the mouth. The surface is covered with grayish white or blue pseudomembrane ulcers with clear borders, red and slightly swollen surrounding mucosa, and local burning pain.

2. Causes of Recurrent Oral Ulcers

Internal causes: endocrine disorders and reduced immunity. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that frustrated emotions can damage the heart and spleen; yin deficiency leads to excessive fire, burning heat and toxicity, internal dampness and heat, which rise to the mouth and cause the above-mentioned symptoms.

External factors: genetic factors, mental stress and stimulation, work fatigue, insomnia. Most female patients are induced to suffer from this disease before or after menstruation, which may aggravate the condition or may harbor serious diseases in the body.

3. How should recurrent oral ulcers be treated?

The causes of oral ulcers are relatively complex, and clinical treatment must be targeted according to different causes in order to achieve good results. Such as: relieving mental stress, calming down, sleeping, quitting smoking and drinking, etc.; those with digestive tract diseases should treat the corresponding diseases and increase the body's resistance. For local ulcers, local application of pain relief, anti-inflammatory and healing-promoting drugs can be used. Such as: cod liver oil paste, prednisone paste, Yangyin Shengji powder, ulcer ointment, etc., or apply local anesthetic locally before eating to relieve pain.
