Can I use moxibustion if I have bone spurs on my knee?

Moxibustion has become a popular way to treat diseases in recent years. Moxibustion can not only relieve bone spurs in the knee joints, but also can treat excessive moisture in the body. The most effective treatment for bone spurs is to follow the doctor's instructions. Generally speaking, older people are more prone to bone hyperplasia, and some people who often engage in high-intensity labor are also prone to bone hyperplasia.

1. Can moxibustion cure bone spurs?

Moxibustion is very effective in treating bone hyperplasia. The patient should lie in a prone position, and the moxa sticks should be used to light the kidney points close to the human body on both sides of the second lumbar spinous process. This can effectively relieve the lesions until the skin of the human body turns red. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that bone hyperplasia may be related to the physiological function of an individual's kidneys, especially primary bone hyperplasia may be caused by insufficient kidney essence. Therefore, patients with bone hyperplasia generally need to stimulate the Shenshu points, which can effectively relieve symptoms and enhance the patient's activity. Moxibustion therapy has the effect of relaxing muscles and tendons, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis. It can be used by men, women, young and old, and the effect is quite significant.

2. Causes of bone spurs

age

Advanced age is the main risk factor for the disease.

Profession

This disease is occupation-related. Long-term and repeated use of certain joints can cause an increased incidence of disease in these joints. Such as the elbow and shoulder joints of foundries, the spine and knee joints of miners, the knee and ankle joints of loaders, the shoulder joints of drivers, the wrist joints of repairmen and textile workers, the metatarsophalangeal joints of ballet dancers, and the cervical joints of people who work in embroidery, typing, or desk work for a long time.

3. Clinical manifestations of bone spurs

Degenerative cervical spine disease

The neck feels stiff, with limited movement and snapping sounds when the neck moves. The pain often radiates to the shoulders and upper limbs. The hands and fingers have numbness and an electric shock-like sensation, which may be aggravated by moving the neck to a certain angle. Different lesions affect different parts of the body and cause different symptoms. In severe cases, the cervical spinal cord may be compressed, leading to paralysis.

Certain types of cervical vertigo can also cause cervical vertigo, cervical spondylosis hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, gastritis, angina pectoris, dysphagia, etc.

Lumbar degenerative disease

L3 and L4 are the most common. Clinically, symptoms such as soreness, distension, stiffness, fatigue in the lumbar spine and lumbar soft tissues, and even limited bending ability are common. If the adjacent nerve roots are compressed, it may cause corresponding symptoms, such as local pain, stiffness, posterior root neuralgia, numbness, etc. Compression of the sciatic nerve can cause sciatica, with radiating numbness, burning pain, cramping pain, and stringy pain in the affected limb, radiating to the entire lower limb, and intermittent claudication when spinal canal stenosis occurs.

Bone spur treatment remedies

1. Take 150 grams of dog bones, smash and fry until they turn yellow, soak them in 500 ml of white wine (above 50 degrees), and after 3 days, rub the affected area with ginger dipped in the wine, 3 times a day (it is best to drink 1 cup of this wine at the same time).

2. Use 6-9 grams of Chuanxiong powder, an appropriate amount of Shanxi aged vinegar, and a small amount of medicinal Vaseline. Add Shanxi aged vinegar to the medicine powder and mix it into a paste, then add a little medicinal Vaseline and mix well. Then apply the prepared ointment to the patient's hyperplasia area, cover it with a layer of plastic paper and then stick gauze on it, and seal the gauze with wide adhesive tape. Change the dressing once every 2 days, and 10 times constitute a course of treatment.
