What to eat for emphysema

Emphysema is a relatively common physical disease, which mainly refers to the patient's bronchial dilation causing the lung volume to increase, or some patients sometimes have a state where the airway wall is damaged. According to the main causes of emphysema in patients, there are many classifications, such as senile emphysema, compensatory emphysema, interstitial emphysema, etc. So, what is good to eat for emphysema?

The symptoms of emphysema after onset depend on the severity of the patient's condition. In the early stages, patients do not show any symptoms, except for shortness of breath when exercising. As emphysema progresses, breathing may become heavier or more difficult.

Dietary treatment of emphysema is very important. The intake of carbohydrates and fats should be moderate, because the right amount of carbohydrates and fats can maintain normal human metabolism and tolerate hypoxia, so sugar and fat should not be excessively restricted. Foods high in vitamin A and vitamin C should be given, which are beneficial to the repair of alveolar epithelial cells.

It is very important to keep the cooking environment clean. When stir-frying or frying, the oil temperature is too high, producing irritating smoke, which is harmful to the human body and can cause irritating cough and asthma, and aggravate emphysema. Boiling, stewing, steaming, braising and simmering should be encouraged. These cooking methods do not produce irritating smoke. It is recommended that you try to choose foods that are easy to chew. If you are a patient with chronic lung disease, you may easily experience breathing difficulties when chewing foods that do not require much chewing; eat more vegetables; avoid foods that are easy to cause bloating, such as beans and cabbage.

Don’t be afraid if you have emphysema. The treatment of emphysema is not very difficult. As long as you pay more attention to self-control in diet, you can adjust yourself in time. Of course, if after adjusting for a period of time, you still feel very uncomfortable, then the patient should go to the hospital for timely treatment after discovering emphysema.
