Selective deafness is a psychological disease. The symptom of the disease is selective deafness to certain things, but not to all sounds. For example, when others are talking about topics that you are not interested in, you pretend not to hear them, or when you hear some unpleasant words, your ears automatically filter them out and pretend not to hear anything. But what kind of impact will this disease have on people?
Selective deafness affects a wide range of people, from the elderly to children. This disease is a psychological disease, and it is best to seek help from a psychologist. Otherwise, the disease will cause mental depression to the patient. How should this disease be treated? 1. Cochlear tinnitus: lesions of the stereocilia bundle, such as decreased flexibility, loss of cilia integrity or fusion of stereocilia, and loss of connection between cilia and the tectorial membrane. As seen in acute noise-induced injury, it is generally considered peripheral tinnitus. 2. Peripheral tinnitus: Peripheral tinnitus is the result of pathological excitation of the cochlea by the auditory nerve. Lesions in the cochlea or cochlear nerve can cause an increase in the discharge rate of inner hair cells and their associated nerve fibers, and erroneous signals are transmitted to the central nervous system like normal sound signals. Central auditory pathway neurons cannot distinguish between pathological excitement and physiological excitement produced by normal sound stimulation. 3. Neurogenic tinnitus: damage to the auditory nerve alone: such as acoustic neuroma, which is very rare. Inner ear damage caused by noise or aminoglycoside toxic substances is always accompanied by electrophysiological changes in nerve fibers. One pathological mechanism of neurological tinnitus when the inner ear is intact is that the myelin sheath of the auditory nerve fibers is partially ruptured (loss of myelin can cause loss of insulation in the nerve fibers, allowing action potentials to be transmitted from one fiber to another. 4. Central tinnitus: The existence of central tinnitus is indisputable. If selective deafness still exists after the auditory nerve is cut, it is believed that the tinnitus comes from the central auditory pathway. Central tinnitus may occur due to severe central blood supply disorders, brain tumors, craniocerebral trauma, neurasthenia or after neurosurgery. The above is an introduction to the treatment of selective deafness. Selective deafness has a great impact on the patient's work and life, so when everyone discovers the disease, they must seek timely treatment. In particular, parents of child patients should give them enough care and love so that they can truly receive psychological treatment. |
