I can't lie flat due to back pain after cesarean section

Being a mother is indeed a very great role, because not only does she have to go through 10 months of pregnancy and childbirth, which is also a nightmare for her, but after giving birth she also has to take on the role of taking care of the child. In modern society, many pregnant women choose to give birth by caesarean section. Although cesarean section makes childbirth more convenient, it can also cause many sequelae in the mother. How to solve the problem of back pain after cesarean section and even inability to lie flat?

It could be postpartum strain. Because I was busy taking care of the child after giving birth, I was too tired and didn’t pay attention to my posture. Characteristics: Lumbar spine arched forward, pelvis tilted forward, buttocks stuck out when walking.

The waist is stiff, which is worst when getting up and gradually eases after exercise. Try walking backwards to see if your back pain is relieved. Wear flat shoes when walking backwards, walk slowly with small steps, and exercise enough so that your waist does not feel tired. You can exercise in small amounts and multiple times. Excessive exercise will aggravate waist pain. You can gradually increase the amount of exercise as the pain frequency decreases and the pain is relieved. You should do it within your ability and pay attention to safety.

If it is inconvenient to do backward walking exercise, you can also do it at home: barefoot or wearing flat shoes, step on the front of your feet on a book about 20 mm thick, and stand upright. The longer you stand upright, the better, and feel whether the symptoms are relieved. This has the same effect as backward walking, and is safer.

Walking backwards and standing with negative heels are effective for low back pain. You can wear a pair of negative heels that are higher in the front and lower in the back. Wearing them is the same as walking normally and walking backwards. It can correct unreasonable postures in standing and walking in daily life, exercise the muscles of the waist and back, promote blood circulation in the waist and back, consolidate the effect of backward walking exercises, and have a rehabilitation effect on postpartum low back pain.

Don't wear shoes with high heels, don't stand or sit for a long time in a fixed posture, don't overwork, don't sleep on a bed that is too soft, and taking a walk with the correct posture is also good for low back pain.

How to treat back pain after childbirth

Speaking of postpartum back pain, it is the author's personal experience. After ten months of pregnancy, I finally completed the great mission, but the next troubles also came. Because it was a caesarean section, after half a month, the wound was basically healed, but a phenomenon occurred, which was back pain. This back pain lasted for many years. I couldn’t even lie flat when sleeping. Once I lay flat, I felt like my waist was going to break. I couldn’t stand for too long at normal times. Standing for too long would cause back pain, not to mention bending over to work. The pain was so severe that I couldn’t even straighten my waist. It was really painful. And I tried many methods but nothing worked. The author's two good sisters have the same problem. They both gave birth naturally, but they also often felt back pain. It seems that back pain after childbirth is a common symptom in women. It is a major killer that plagues women's health. So what should we do about back pain after childbirth? Here are some ways to effectively relieve back pain, hoping to help more mothers stay away from back pain.

First of all, we need to understand the cause of postpartum low back pain. From the moment a woman becomes pregnant, the endocrine system of the entire body undergoes a very big change. In order to ensure the smooth delivery of the fetus, the female body makes a great sacrifice. The ligaments connecting the pelvis must be relaxed so that a smooth delivery can be achieved. After delivery, the ligaments of the pelvis cannot recover quickly and remain in a relaxed state. Moreover, the abdominal muscles are also loose after delivery, which increases the burden on the waist and causes low back pain.

In fact, many women begin to experience back pain in the late stages of pregnancy. This is because the growing fetus causes pressure. So, the back pain continued after delivery. So how to relieve postpartum back pain? If it is mild back pain, just pay attention to the correct posture. When holding a child, be careful not to let the child's weight press on the waist and back. It is best to follow the principle of "if you can stand, don't sit; if you can sit, don't lie down", because standing and sitting will keep the waist in the correct position and reduce pain.

What about severe back pain like the one I'm having? As mentioned before, it's caused by loose lumbar ligaments. So the best way is to maintain the correct posture and let the lumbar ligaments recover as soon as possible. Ligaments are collagen. Therefore, it is recommended that sisters supplement with more protein-containing foods. If the food supplements are slow to work, then directly supplement with protein powder. Also, calcium should be supplemented at the same time. Because the mother and fetus consume a lot of calcium throughout the pregnancy, it will lead to calcium deficiency. Calcium supplementation can also relieve pain.

In daily life, you should also pay attention to some details, such as not wearing high heels too early after giving birth, keep your waist warm, try to sleep on your back or side, the mattress should not be too soft, otherwise the waist will be deformed, and take more walks or ride a bicycle. These exercises are good for the health of the waist.
